Help identifying a funky SID? tune
This video about some guys barbecuing a lithium battery has a tune that sounds like SID, but I haven't been able to identify it or find anyone who could. Any ideas over here?

I'd like to find the original, because I'd like to take a closer listen. Even the people who are on the video don't seem to remember. |

Indeed cool tune - did you contact the uploaders directly through PM? |

Over on IRC actually, and now that you asked, asked again. What was playing was a stream from Kohina. Doh! I'll jump there. |

For those still interested: Kohina contacts report that the funky tune is called Mad Max - Solidify, dunno which one is the author, and it is for Atari ST. |

Author is Jochen Hippel and the tune can be downloaded from:

You can play it with Jam for Windows which can be downloaded from:

Wow, awesome thanks. Atari ST?! I would never have guessed. Real loudspeakers and acoustics do wonders to soften sounds. Anyway "YM" on the ST is much more expressive than on, say, MSX, because the ST can do PWM with high rate timer interrupts. |

And here is the same song running on C64 using the AY stream player I'm working on. I can't do buzzer harmonics and there's a little oddness with the noise pitch but it's sort of getting there. |

Yes, the SID conversion sounds terrific. In some ways it's better than the original. The snare could have a bit snappier attack and the background arpeggio could be slightly louder maybe. |
