What would u ask?

Hi all, i have to clear out my house and i have loads of c64 ORIGINAL games on disk and tape... The thing is that i have hundreds, 500 maybe more (to many to count) i even have the tape versions and disk versions of the same game in some cases. Most were loaded approx only once to crack, then put away. So im wondering how much should i ask for on ebay, i dont wanna sell them for a silly price... I mean to give you an example of wot im selling i have 'Last Ninja 2 Special Edition' with ninja mask and ninja star... unopened... and my most treasured game is 'ARMALYTE - Gold Copy'... only 4 copies where ever made and as far as i know i have the only copy left as the others where returned to thalamus to get there prize, but i didnt as the prize they offered i already had... Im sure that alone is worth abit (I hope)... So im asking you's, how much do u think a fair asking price is!... Im not selling any of my hardware, just games.... Thx

The Last Ninja 2 pack is probably worth around 50 Euros alone. Don't know about Armalyte, but it sounds like it could get you half a fortune on ebay. Don't make the mistake and sell all the games in a bundle, you will get a much lower price that way. But you just have to live with the fact that some originals aren't that wanted and will probably sell for 1 or 2 Euros. Others may go up to 50-100 Euros. Just put them up on ebay and try.

Why don't you make a list of these games and upload that somewhere, some people from here might be interested in one or the other game, so you save yourself the ebay hassle.

Thx Steppe for the advice... If i do make a list it will be a few weeks away as i have just packed about 7 black bin liners of games away yesterday and i dont have the time to go through them all again and list them... So when i do i'll see about posting a list of all them or a small list of the big main titles which i feel people might be interested in.. But to be honest, i should have basicly very major full price game and most main budget games from 1985-1993?

Its a question of luck if a game gets bid on or not. I have seen the same game with 1 hour in different get sold for a different of 10 pounds.

Fungus im not in contact with DMC and i havent been for years as he did to me like he does to everyone (screws them about).... but i do know 1 thing, DMC was busted about 18 months ago by the cops.... Maybe he pissed the wrong guy off, who knows.... And finally hopefully this next bit will help clear up why and where i got so many games etc.... I worked in a computer shop for years ;) in the 1980's - 90's so i got my hands on everything rare or special editions etc.... again ask anyone that knows me, tony should know this too as i went to leeds once and meet him :) Im off to work.... Later....

what's the diffrence between armalyte gold and the normal armalyte? are there extra options in the game or anything like that?

I loaded it once to make sure it worked, played a wee bit then switched it off.... So im not sure if its got anything extra, but to be honest there maybe no difference, about from being a 'gold rush' tape. If you have a version of armalyte read the back of the box, theres a thing called GOLD RUSH II, Gold rush 1 was hawkeye and again there was only 4 gold rush copies released and Gold rush 2 was the same, 4 gold rush copies of armalyte....

would it be too much asking to scan the cover or the inlay?
it's just to have an impression.
imo you could become a millionaire selling this game, especially if there is only one copy left. e-bay's probably the best place to auction the game.

you might wanna talk about this with dan philips? (the creator)he can be found @ the lemon forum. you probably could make him very jealous :)

cheers

Ok matt, i will contact Dan on the lemon64 forum, but it might be the weekend as im busy working late the next few days :( I can scan the cover no sweat, but it looks just like the normal version, its the tape itself thats different, Dan most likely knows that anyway.... Also as we are on the same subject of rare stuff etc, i have most if not all the codemasters games done by 'GENESIS SOFTWARE' example they did (CJ Elephant Antics, Noddy The Aardvark 'Thalamus')... but they are signed by the graphic artist, you see i grew up with the programmer Dave and his cousin Jonathan the graphic artist, ashley who did the music lived further away in belfast, but me, dave and jonathan all lived within 200 metres from each other.... dave and ashley now live in england and work as programmers, while jon lives here in belfast and works as a graphic artist (he did a interview with the guys at LEMON64 a few months ago), but jon still lives only 2 streets away from me today.... Check out 'Noddy The Aardvark' game, load it up and check out the screen that gives out the hi-score and the credits etc.... at the bottom of the credits screen it thanks 2 people then it thanks GENETIX, thats becoz i help him on a few things.... I even did the disk protection on 'Noddy' for thalamus, but at that stage thalamus thought protecting games was a waste of time as the c64 they thought was dying and decided not to go with it... :( SOB... Anyways as im pretty sure that most guys on this database have been around for a few many years and im sure they have a few funny or interesting stories.... So im gonna start a topic 'Cool, Interesting or Funny Stories' and hopefully some of you guys will post a few stories... :) I have 1... Some1 thought i wrote 'Monty on the run' game music.... Just wait till i post the story about it, its a cool story....

Its true dishy im afraid to said.... The setup was like this, i started up GENETIX then me and dmc went to work from that... I got the games everyday as i worked in a computer shop then DMC who lived near me called to my house every nite, i had 2 c64s set up beside each other... i cracked and trained the games and he coded the intros, i then handed the cracked game, trainer to him and he linked and packed the games and went home and posted out to whoever he swapped with.... after about a year of watching me and learning he wanted to crack too, so i showed him and slowly he got better... he still called up each day working together as a team.... but as time went by dmc got more and more greedy.... he didnt call up as much, didnt wanna work as a team.... once dmc gets want he wants or needs he doesnt need ya anymore... so i left the c64 genetix and took a break from computers.... i remember 1 time he phoning me boasting that he joined a group for a few days just to get there tools off them and then left the group.... Im sorry to say it, but he did piss so many people off....
