mmc replay + rrnet
ok I really need some help getting my rrnet and warpcopy to work again.
after I finished the derby ram collection my laptop died so I got a new one and I forgot to setup everything.
a year and a half later I have some more disks to transfer so I went to set everything up again and it's now not working.
ive tried everything I thought I knew to get this up and running again to no avail. maybe I just became older and forgetful. maybe I was just lucky in the beginning getting it setup I don't know.
I need someone help to set this back up for me. I presume it's something im not doing on the pc side of things as everything seems to be fine on the c64 side. I have loaded Contiki and the ip addresses seem fine etc but when I setup the ethernet it doesn't want to talk to the c64 fully. I have tried pinging the c64 and that seems to work but when I try to send the server on warpcopy it says no response from the c64 so im stuck and pulling out my hair to which I don't have much of that anyway.
I have pm'd a few people but they have not got back to me as yet so I really do need some help.
if this isn't the right place to ask for such help could the mods delete the post once ive gained the help I need please.
I think I need someone to run through the part of setting the ethernet adapter up and how to check the netbook and the c64 are indeed talking to each other. if I need to do anything special with codenet and compatability modes and the same with warpcopy.
I have a netbook with xp on one with 7 on and one with 10 on. I can use any aslong as someone can help me as ive tried on all 3 and get the same problem. seem to be stuck with the last step of sending the server, but like I say its probably something before that step that I haven't done correctly
thanks

Sorry that i can't provide you with help, but i am having about the same issue on my Win10 Ultrabook. When i try to send the server to the c64 it can't it. When Weasel does it from his pc it works. And astonishingly enough i, after that, can talk and transfer discs with the setup.
Not sure if the issue is something in Win10 with the Firewall et wall. Got it turned off, yet still i can't initially send the server to the c64.
So i am following this thread wih interest.
NB: That setup at Weasel's place consists of a C64 with 1541U1 and TFR with codenet, connected directly via ethernet cable to my laptop. |

hi dano.
yes im pretty sure its something on the pc setup.
hopefully we'll get an answer and if I do and it's in a pm I will send on to you also so you can rectify your problem too or atleast have the knowledge to do this. |

my system wasn't working also for one time...problem was fixed by a friend, who found a sticker on my retro replay which was sticking exactly on the pins...sticker removed, everything was working again :) |

when pinging the c64 works when contiki is running, then its very unlikely the problem is on the c64 end.
i'd try "manually" loading warpcopy06.prg on the c64 and see if that works then (at least pinging it should....) |

Change the IP in Warpcopy to 192.168.0.64, as Groepaz tells you. |

You might need to use a cross-cable to directly connect your modern computer to your RRnet. |

Or plug some HUB or switch inbetween. |

OR just use different IPs for C64 and PC. i am not a network expert but MAYBE that works? |
