Using CSDB data on my own blog?
Hi there
I run my blog for some time now, but lately I was wondering if I can use some of the data, mainly screenshot (but maybe others too) directly from this site?
Say X'18 is finished and I want to write short report with some screenshot. I could do them myself (takes time) so I just use CSDB screenshot shown in my blog post.
Is it OK with site rules? I quickly looked at Help section but found nothing related to this issue.
Ofcoz I'll put all the credits and links to right releases/events/etc. |

isnt that what the RSS stuff and webservices exist for? :)
however, it'd be kinda hard to claim copyright for a screenshot, so i dont see a problem with that. |

You both are right about webserwices and I will use RSS (already tested it)
But What I'm talking about is using gfx in articles - in texts, So I don't have to take screenshots myself. And also for example using direct link to download files (if/when added inside the article).
I thought It should be OK and more I think I think about it and read your comments I'm convinced it's nothing wrong about using it in my articles.
I guess I'm over cautious in this case.
Anyway. I'll try to do it and give a needed credits If somebody (does actually anyone read my blog ;) )claims the rights I will remove the links.
[edit]
regarding RSS
am I missing something and there are RSS feeds for latest gfx? or latest party releases?
I guess not... |

Maybe you can post a link to your blog, so we can see it? |

For some screenshots?
You'd better ask yourself what the upcoming EU copyright reform would say about it :) |

I had merely to the so-called "link-tax" in mind myself. Nothing else ;-) |

after some thoughts
no hotlinking to the downloads - I guess it's bad.
