Acquiring Drean C-64
So i decided i'd like to own one of those wonderful machines combining the best of both PAL and NTSC worlds.
Now, they seem to be quite rare (and expensive) outside Argentina. However, they seem to go at reasonable prices (less than the equivalent of €100) over on Mercadolibre Argentina.
But... no international shipping, as it seems.
"Personal online shopping services" do exist, which would purchase and ship the item with some charge, but...
I'd rather do this via the scene. :)
So, any Argentinian sceners up for this? (Or any alternative ideas?) |

having a drean box available for testing would be cool indeed :) |

Hi there,
I'm attending to X party but... I'm visiting many other cities before X party so disregarded the idea of carrying a Drean C64 from Buenos Aires.
I think it's a good reason to come to Argentina and attend to Flashparty which is going to be held in Buenos Aires next year,
@groepaz you are invited too ;)
PS: I'm bringing dozens of PVM Drean Commodore posters for free |

Quoting Oswaldmake an argentina holiday next summer with your girl. That's a bit further down the list of options.
Quoting GroepazYeah, great country to travel to.... if you like staying at hotel surrounded by a wall =P You're not mixing up Argentina with Brasil?
Quoting TimThere are some Argentinian sceners coming to X this year... Yes, i noticed, which is why i started this thread a little earlier than i otherwise would have.
Quoting arlequinI'm visiting many other cities before X party so disregarded the idea of carrying a Drean C64 from Buenos Aires. I wouldn't have expected this from anyone. :) But i hoped you or some other Argentinian sceners might be up for acquiring and shipping one to me (with the costs covered by me as per some agreement etc.), that would be great.
Quoting arlequinI think it's a good reason to come to Argentina and attend to Flashparty which is going to be held in Buenos Aires next year Could be combined with the option Oswald mentioned, but i guess i'll wait until there are a few more good reasons to travel that far. :) |

btw, perhaps its easier (and a lot less expensive) to just bring a drean VICII? did anyone ever look at the drean boards to find out if you can mod a regular one to use it? |

Pretty sure would at least require another crystal, no? And it wouldn't come with the Drean plaque, of course. :) |

Clock divider is set to NTSC on the Dreans, other than that, the VIC and the crystal, the only difference is the Drean stickers with the matching serial number on some ICs (SID and ROMs usually) |
