Trance Cover on C64
Hey People!
Thanks for all the good reaction on the Music for the Demo Beertime IVA on the C64!
For all who still don't know the demo, check out Beertime IVA
I am mainly doing Trance Music on the C64. My request is the following: What are your favorite Trance Tracks in real life? Do you have an idea which Trance Track to cover on the C64? Which Trance Track you would like to hear on the C64?
I will pick up the most favorite and do a cover on it on the C64 to release it in one of the next Dekadence Demos. The next Dekadence Demo will contain a remake of "Redemption" from RMB! So this one drops out!
So cheers to all!
Best regards,
Arman Behdad
aka Intensity/Onslaught/Dekadence/Cosine

not being into trance at all anymore, but when i was about 13/15, there was a song called 'meltdown' by ALSO. it was an instant classic, and afair, one of the most remixed ones too.
king fisher had a go at it, but i guess this one could be done better.
think you can come up with a total kick ass version of this one? =) |

I am not sure about trance groups/titles. I'd like to hear industrial music in C64 demos though (Assemblage23, Apoptygma Berserk, etc.), I like these stuff a lot lately. Were there older C64 demos having something like that? I am wondering how it would sound with the SID :) |

Since assemblage 23, apoptygma berzerk, vnv nation etc is a rahter new genre its quite hard to find such music in older demos, isnt it.. :)
The only stuff I know that is remotely "industrial" is the stuff from waz.
However, I still want a c64 version of Warzaw Ghetto/Nitzer Ebb.. |

One apoptygma berzerk track was used as the Hmyn of MekkaSymposium 2001, but I don't know it's name, anyone knows it?
apoptygma berzerk is rather EBM sound, right? |

Then listen to Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly, Front 242, Einstürzende Neubauten, The Weathermen, Klinik, Nitzer Ebb...
And now that I'm at it: Fuck Trance!
McDonalds music for the demented masses.

So we have now :
Hybris - Goldrush
DJ Tiesto - Endless Wave
ALSO - Meltdown
Apoptygma Bezerk - Starsign
Juno Reactor - High Energy Protons
Unfortunatley I have none of those Tracks, beside DJ Tiesto - Endless Wave. Anyone can provide me with those tunes? |

got a few requests:
alter ego-rocker
black strobe-italian fireflies
I think these two tunes could really make it on the c64 yey!
also stuff from sharam jay (the last dance) or felix the housecat (ready to wear) or slam (this world) would be neat!
bu the last three mentioned songs are not really trance...
anyway,
cheers! ;) |

@Matt: Some of those tracks you mentioned are good!
Anyone knows even weird electronica products? I have the order to one weird electronica SID for one of the next demos I am involved in. Something which is not common.
Would be a great help if you would mention some.

lo,
well, pls try to convert Aphex Twin's 'Windowlicker' then. I'd be glad to help, btw =)
Any stuff by Autechre would be nice, too - Especially the tracks from 'EP7'.

If one of you can make a good/decent SID conversion of Autechre's Basscadet I bow VERY VERY VERY VERY deep for you and do your dishes for the rest of my life.
But as this thread is full of tranceheads I doubt this will ever happen and buy a dishwasher instead =)

i wish i had the patience of doing a tune that lasts longer than 2.30 mins which isn't getting too boring, else i would be up for that. after all, basscadet left an impact on quite alot of musicians (if not all?) |

A conversion of Windowlicker would be cool.
How do you want to manage it? With Goat Tracker? |

Hey Roland.
Would you use it in your own Demo then?
And: Do you have the Mp3 file of Authechre-Basscadet?

Hmm..no, I wouldn't use it because nothing beats the original version and I don't like covers.
I have the mp3 somewhere. I'll look for it. |

That's obvious!
It's better than any trancetrack *EVER* and I don't underestimate the power of the SID.
