Rob Hubbard - Jimi Hendrix influence
Obviously Rob Hubbard is influenced as much as any other artist, but this morning (while waiting for a large file to upload via YouSendIt) I had my Hendrix CD playing, and towards the end of track 15 'Voodoo Child (Slight Return)' (4:56 to be precise) there's audio that plays that sounds just like a section from Rob Hubbard's Delta (in game). I was quite taken back, as the two sounds are so similar.
(edit)
Just had a thought.. :D
If you've ever seen Koyaanisqatsi - Life Out of Balance
http://imdb.com/title/tt0085809/
You should recognize the music (that runs throughout the film) as the same music that appears in Delta (in game). So maybe it was the composer of this music that was inspired by Jimi Hendrix.

Hubbard was 'influenced' almost to the point of 'plagiarism' on alot of stuff it seems. |

indeed :) and he keeps suspiciously quiet about it when somehone asks him about his "inspiration" (he'd usually say he "doesn't remember") - unless someone (again) found something thats undenieable. |

Google's "plagiarism"
Plagiarism (from the Latin plagiare, "to kidnap") is the practice of claiming, or implying, original authorship of (or incorporating material from) someone else's written or creative work, in whole or in part, into one's own without adequate acknowledgement.
It makes sense now :)

That's pretty shocking! The ingame Delta theme was always one of my favourite C64 tunes. |

50% off-topic as well... My all-time favourite is this one here. But this time the other way around.
Watch this first...
Kernkraft 400 by Zombie Nation (after 0:45 sec.)
and then listen to...
MUSICIANS/W/Whittaker_David/Lazy_Jones.sid (song 21)
I know, nothing new either... But I find it really astonishing each time I hear it. Kernkraft 400 was a commercial success if I remember right. |
