Is Lemon 64 Dead?
I hope this has not happened, but I have a feeling that Lemon64 community is probably dead. I cannot get the access to their web site, as the server cannot find the site. It looks as if the service has shut the Lemon64 web site down for some reason. Or perhaps Lemon64 is moving.

It's really bad habbit of some users in forum to ask such qestion whenever they can't load page. "Is lemon.com down? have you had problems with lemon yesterday? why is lemon so slow? etc.
Richard it's only down for one day. Ask when it won't go online for few days. |

The Last Ninja archives (on Kai's personal pages) report DNS problems. Should only be temporary.
And I agree to what CreaMD said, no need for a panic outbreak just because a website isn't accessible for a couple of days... :-/ |

Maybe you remember rumours about author of Harry Potter - Joan Rowling being anti christian etc. spread by stupid people who didn't check their sources. This made her unwanted in the church circles.. and all this because onion.com released a fake interview with her... anything can cause a domino effect in internet.. even this.. is "xyz.com down?" stuff... |

Ah, but aren't the realistic portrayals of Witchcraft in HP books leading kids straight through gates of Hell anyway, whether or not the author is antichristian :)))) |

Matt, I wonder why I'm answering your already second stupid provocation.
Have you ever thing about why some people from scene are visiting Lmon, and why people from Lemon are visiting CSDB? Do you think it's a coincidence? I'm one of the first supporters of those two forums. I believe that they are the best on the net. I've never announced any site to be down just because it wasn't acessible due to unknown reasons. Correct me if I'm wrong. ;-))))
So here is the answer my dear moron.
NO I WOULDN'T BE...

The latest posts on c64.sk about Lemon64's dead is true this time, yes? :(
Does anybody know more why this all happened, if I may ask that |

I think it is just another concerned visitor..
The Lemon-message states it will be back, but when...
I like Lemon64 and I hope it will return.
It´s good to see how many non-sceners still like the C64. |

There's a thread on lemon amiga. It doesn't say much really, though apparently it's coming back at some stage. The c64.sk post looks like the typical over-reaction where a site is offline for a few days and someone who probably doesn't even have anything to do with it starts a big drama about it being dead (at least it did take a few days this time for the obligatory declaration of death to appear, not just a few hours!). Of course we'll now be hit by conspiracy theories and rumours of 'cover-ups' by people who have nothing better to do with their lives than follow website soap operas (it already looks to be brewing on lemon amiga), I can't wait... |

To be honest, the overtactful only-on-need-to-know-basis divulging of information (ie. no information that would make sense) at the lemonamiga thread truly pisses me off. Who would it hurt to tell what exactly happened? Of course, names of guilty parties could be left off, if that's a concern. |

exactly my opinion. but then why should a few bad people be enough to close down a whole community and information base like Lemon64? Kim Lemon should know that the majority likes Lemon64 and appreciates his work! :) |

Hadn't noticed this thread before, too much tending to the fjords recently.
I've posted as much vague info as I thought was appropriate on the lemonamiga thread just earlier, as idigital.
I was actually the user that was banned just prior to Kim taking the entire site down.
Probably best not to get into the details here either, no need for citrus fresh melodrama to boil over in this thread.
So PM for further details. Except Wanderer, cos I do not like him.
I'm assured that Lemon64 will be back very soon, with lots of retarded community retro enthusiasts, at least it has active moderators. Although most of them are completely retarded and the admin (not Kim) lost his mind with the sheer power of administrating such a massive site.

Thanks for setting the record straight. Yeah I kind of understand the mods not making their lability widely known by explaining themselves ;) |

i've knocked the post over to beta news at C64.sk anyway, no point in perpetuating rumours until Kim's got his head and whatever else straight. |

from lemonamiga:
"The real story, is that a certain person abused their admin position because they weren't happy with a certain Lemon forum user.
The admin (not Kim) refused to apologise for the abuse of their role and banned the user instead.
The resulting melodrama created by this irresponsible admin caused the owner of Lemon64 to take it down while reconsidering the administrative structure of the site.
Not entirely necessary, although from what I've heard of the mod forum this was probably the best way to work out the new admin/mod roles rather than endure more bickering in the private forum.
No hacking, no legal problems, just one person abusing their admin position causing Kim to finally reconsider Lemon64's administrative structure.
That's all I can reveal without getting bringing the melodrama here as well" |

Lemon64 is the only real place where sceners and those who simply like C64 and have nothing to do with C64 were able to come together. It also had TONS of info about games and lots of reviews and stuff.

From the Lemon64 FB page ... Matt was able to get a message to TNT here is the reply
Quote:Mathieu Faes> Okay, this is what i got back from TNT and I quote: "Kim has a new host arranged, but there's no schedule yet for setting up the host. I've offered my help in case they need it. We'll be wiser in a couple of days. Cheers, TNT."
