Tangled Tale does not work...

Hello,

I have a problem, I downloaded tangled tale from this website it says cracked and everything, then I copied it to the real C64 because I only play on the real deal not emulator. The games starts, I made my character and when it began the store it frooze. Nothing happens (I use PAL C64). But on the emulator it works...what is wrong? How do I fix this? Does the Disk Drive have to be PAL too? Thanks in advance.

I seem to recall that Tangled Tales a 40 track-game? PAL or NTSC doesn't matter much if the games isn't dependant on exact rastertiming - which most RPG's aren't.

It is 40 tracks - so ensure u download a 40 track
version :) Should be around 192kb pr. disk side.

OpenCBM should be able to do 40 tracks.

I tried using d64copy to copy the 40 track image of 192 KB into the disk. I typed the following and I get this horrible result:

C:\CBM4WIN>d64copy --start-track=1 --end-track=40 TANGLED0.D64 8

okay. explain me how then. I've found the extended mode, but whenever I try to write an extended disk it just gives me some message that I can't... so what the hell? others also claim it's not possible to do, so if you happen to know, I'd be delighted to learn about this ;_)

I can get same errors as you have when I
format the 5,25" disk as 35 tracks.
If I format the 5,25" as 40 tracks then if works fine.

OpenCBM:
cbmformat -x 8
d64copy tangled01 8

So I assume you did not format the 5,25" with all 40 tracks,
please verify.

It seems I had to type:

C:\CBM4WIN>d64copy --start-track=1 --end-track=40 TANGLED0.d64 8

Now do us a favor also ;) Use d64copy.exe to
transfer all your own disks and post them here

Back in the days I bought the original - it didn't work on my PAL-C128D! I sent it back and asked for a working copy but all I got was a short message that Tangled Tales will _not_ be available for the EU market.

The coders obviously had problems making this RPG-type of game PAL-compatible :)=)

Where to upload:
"Userpage" -> "Add release"

Missing stuff:
ftp://ftp.scs-trc.net/pub/c64/WANTED_CRACKS.TXT
ftp://ftp.scs-trc.net/pub/c64/WANTED_DEMOS.TXT
and: "if it's not on CSDb, it's missing". Ha ha.

And a friendly advice: take yourself 10 minutes to read the Help section before you start uploading stuff that isn't really wanted here. Bottom line is: If it's not scene related, don't bother uploading. It will be deleted.

Hi Foody,

Don't waste your time looking on what you
have on your harddisk or DVD's - too many did
that before you.

What Im asking for is YOUR OWN 5,25" disks
to be transfered as they might have missing
releases.

Thanks!

What Mdz wants to say: Everything you have dl'ed from the net, he already haves. He wants your diskbox contents, not your downloads! :-)

Steppe :)

What MdZ says:
1)
50 ppl have already looked at those DVD´s and pack from
internet. Its waste of time looking at them again ;)

2)
Therefore we/I enjoy new disks to check as they
contain stuff that we may not have seen before.
Even Music for Steppe to rip ;)
