Which group has been active for the longest time?
Does anyone know which group has been, or was, active for the longest time, ie, the greatest number of years between its first and last release?
Is it Fantastic 4 Cracking Group? |

It's Triad, F4CG have stopped releasing in 1999/2000. |

F4CG released something this year (2012)...
If you count the fact that I released a Noice "demo" under F4CG... (read the introscroller for BAAAH)

Computerbrains Cracking Service! 1983-2012. ;) Of course with a "tiny" pause 87-02. |

...and the releases after this break are only "other platform" if I understand correctly.

Yes. Unfortunatly. If we count c64 releases only there should be groups that have a greater year span than F4CG. If I understand it correctly their first releases recorded are from 86, and the last one from 06 (or 12, even if I see BAAAH as a obvious Noice-release). Triad have a span 1986-2012. Same goes for G*P and Alpha Flight (even if their two latest releases (2012) were questioned?). Of course Triad win if we count years with releases for every year since 1986, but I believe that was not the question initiated above. I would say Triad anyhow. |

So would I!
...and while you're at it, give Antidote (TRIAD HQ) a call! ;) |

Sure thing! Why not call The Hidden (G*P WHQ) too, while you're at it. ;) |

Rough: F4CG didn't stop RELEASING at all, they just moved on to other platforms - so it sort of depends if you're talking c64 specfically or all platforms, all "scenes". |

Triad for sure active and most active group for the longest time. There's no single year they didn't release something, from '86 till now.
F4CG is founded in '83, but the first release was in '86 regarding CSDb. Is there something of F4CG from '83? |

if other platforms count, then quite a bunch of groups qualify - eg Untouchable Cracking Force (they keep releasing cracks of CCS64 for example) |

I second that, still there is nothing available from before 1988, and they were inactive for quite a while (1992-2009). But of course it's cool. Especially if stuff from 82-88 could be found. |

Yeah!
Now I don't have to create something to prove a point, The Force have us (F4CG) beat by a year in age and by a few years in releases (Even if the are not on CSDB...). |

Well I'm still in contact with two old members and I can trawl through my own disks. I really expected more of my old crews stuff to be here. |

@Menace: omg, we're obviously talking about 64, the rest is not in question here. |

"Which group has been active for the longest time?"
This question clearly disqualifies the majority of groups mentioned in the thread. Sitting around getting drunk and pissing your pants doesn't qualify as active; C64 releases are the clear qualifier here.
Based on CSDb entries:
The Force (14+ year gap)
Genesis Project (7 year gap)
Alpha Flight (4, 4, and 5 year gaps)
F4CG (two 6 year gaps)
Its clearly Triad because they have releases in every year from creation of the group until now.
On a side note, if your members are listed as inactive you're clearly not active and basically a dead group just not stating it. (Alpha Flight & F4CG) |

What's wrong with sitting around getting drunk and pissing your pants all of a sudden? - except for the sitting around part of course...

Depends on whether you are actively pissing your pants on purpose or you just can't help it, I guess. |

In the piss your pants scene everything is a first release. |

Amen to that!
Greetings to release-sceners.
Fuckings to drunk-pissing-pants "sceners".
