A new Demo Party?
Hi all! 8-)
I´am thinking about a new demo party. But i want to know if the C64 scene is interested in it. The demo party will take place in Germany, near Cologne/Wuppertal in Nordreihn-Westfalen. The admission charge would be approx. 5-10euro.
It is only space for 80´s people. Sleeping room for free is also available. The drinks would be sell to a good price. Also enough takeaways are here to get food. The compos are the same as in others partys, maybe some other special compos we will see. Good music and a beamer to project onto a big screen.
What you think about it?

If you think you can do it. Don't hesitate and go for it. Some advices:
Important
1. Analyse the current parties schedule (check partyscope at c64.sk and (or) also past 2-3 years). Find the good date for your party. a) definitely not when some other "major" party is held (and especially not if it's a c64 party). b) not too close before some "major" party. At least 4-6 weeks before.
2. Get a projector for big-screening
3. Get at least 2 more people to help you with organising.(to help with entrance fee collecting. Big screen projection. Looking after place when you are asleep and such things)
4. Promote... make a site with news concerning the party, party visitors registration form (everything in simple and fast design, fancy stuff won't bring you more visitors)
5. Promote promote promote promote promote promote... ( c64.sk, C64 diskmags, IRC, comp.sys.cbm, c64.org forums, etc. etc. etc.)
Suggestions
1. Make good photos of the place, the surroundings and the city/village, so people will see where they are going. Make a clear map how to get to the partyplace.
2. Prepare good program in advance and publish it on the site (for demo show - publish list of demos, for funny/gaming compos - publish list of compos)
3. Try to communicate with possible participants. Ask them to send you the compo entries in advance. Announce every kind of support or submission somewhere on your site.
4. Simply try to work not only with the place and technical organisation but also try to get people to your party.
good luck

Me and Franky also organize Primary Star in the Netherlands.
If you need some help just ask. Koln is that far for me.

Just wondering about that lame cupholder you can push in and out of your PC? Kinda stupid, no cup can be in in while it's inside the computer...d'oh..
