Desperately Seeking BlueBoard BBS by Martin Sikes
I am seeking a copy of Blue Board BBS (for the Commodore 64) written by Martin Sikes. The software was written around 1985 and published at a company local to Vancouver as well. The BBS software left a big mark on the BBS world at the time - but sadly Martin died an untimely death.
I have been searching for this for over a year now and while I had a good lead, the disk the gentleman had was eaten up with bit rot - and even Kryoflux could not read it.
I run http://www.blueboardbbs.com as a hosting site for the software once I find it and my goal is to make it available for all of the people who I’ve stumbled across who are ALSO looking for it for free and ensure that it is archived properly just like all of the other BBS software that made it through the tests of time.
None of the BBS archives online have it - just the brief mentions and/or doc files that I’ve already found. My only hope is finding this in someone’s archives that they have not placed online... crossing fingers!!
Will drop whoever finds it a “bounty” for the time they took to do so...
Thank you! |

Did you try to clean the disk surface after failed attempt? Careful and patient work on this often makes wonders on unreadable floppies. |

Hey Grue,
YEs, I did suggest that to the person who owns the disks and since they didnt work anyway - he was open to trying it.. Waiting for response from him...
Thanks! |

Lucid,
After all this time he finally agreed to do some cleaning of the disk, etc to see if it would help?
Last I heard he was against anything... |
