1541-2 issue
hi i wonder if anyone can help maybe point me in a direction as i have a problem with 1 of my 1541-2 drives.
if i try to load a directory on a floppy it works and i can list whats on the disk. but if i try to load a program for that disk it gives an error and wont load. if i try a load"*",8,1 it also gives an error and wont load.
why can it read the directory but not any of the programs?
ive tried the disk on another drive and it loads fine.
thanks

overread that you tried the disk in a second drive, so it must be actual device related. nevermind.

Quoting maestroit gives an error and wont load. if i try a load"*",8,1 it also gives an error and wont load. Can you list all the errors that you get?
And it's about one specific disk, others work fine?
Can you format, save and load programs with that drive on another disk? |

all disks appear to be the same on this drive.
i can load a directory but not run any file or disk.
i can format the disks on other drives etc
i will post the error message next |

Have you tried the same drive on another C-64? Or with another serial cable?
And... probably does not need asking, but the problem arises with plain old KERNAL loading, yes? |

Have you tried a different power supply? I've had the most weird issues with 1541-II drives that were solved by replacing the power supply. |
