Game/Demo sounds and music
hello to all music makers out there. I would simply like to get some info on how to make it right for the game scene maybe there are still groups around like M.O.N. who are interested in members, simply how do I get my tracks let's say to a company like sony or others and what ever is in topic ofcause. well that's it!
ofcause I would also like to make free demo music for the one needing it! so if there are poeple interested post it here.

Perhaps by using a timemachine? (that is, if you mean commercial C64 game scene. But AFAIK Sony never did C64 games) |

Syt, there's not much going on on the game-programming-sector anymore on the C64. There are a few hobby-programmers (like Cadaver or Richard/TND) but there are already lots of good musicians around who still produce high quality music.
Then there's Protovision, afaik the only game-oriented company that still commercially produces games for the breadbox. But if you want to get your foot in these doors you need to prove your talent and get some reputation with demos first.
Why not release a music disk first to attract our attention?

Your best chance these days is to do some mods and get them in GBA demos/homebrew games then send them to some software companies (or get them on www.gbadev.org , www.gbaemu.com, www.devrs.com/gba or any of the other gba dev sites as software companies watch these site for new "talent"). Quite a lot of them use freelance musicians for their GBA projects as most of the players are MOD players and their musicians only do full audio tracks in a studio (for PC,PS2,GC etc) so don't have the old skool skills needed to do decent GBA music. |
