SEUCK Games

I downloaded loadsa SEUCKs from the C64HQ and have a large collection of them. However I noticed that some groups who had cracked SEUCK games have trained the games properly, but these silly people had made some of the bullets (which supposed to fire random directions) shoot eastwards. However, I know how to fix this problem!

The cause of this sort of problem was because those silly people had wiped some bytes that was actually supposed to have been used, as it controls the directions of the bullets that shoot randomly. This is at $8000-$8100. But they filled this area with Zeroes.

I tried saving the bytes from $8000-$8100 from one of my old SEUCK games, and tested it on the TBT crack of 'Probe-Y', and the game worked how it was supposed to have worked. The bullets fire in random direction.

I thought I express this to you all, to prove that those problems, regarding SEUCK cracks can actually be debugged.

Well, i wouldn't have said they were secrets as such since a lot of people know them? The cause and fix to get around that random table issue when cleaning a SEUCK was covered in Jon Wells' article in Commodore Format about eight years or so ago...?

I had that issue, but (duh I'm dumb ass me huh, huh) I lost it.

Did you notice what I can do with SEUCK games? I learned last year how to actually code a new title screen and link 'em to SEUCK games. I done yet another one this week for Cats SEUCK game. But it wont be released on TND web site, it will be released on my web site after the proper magazine release of the game :)

Which reminds me, I have organised a SEUCK game compo. Here's the URL

http://www.redesign.sk/tnd64/seuck.html

I have two entries submitted so far. However, more entries would be nice. So do you have an old game in your dusty disk box, which you wish to enter, then please feel free to mail me at richard@c64.rulez.org, along with your entry.

Closing date is November!
