5.25 Floppys
HELP****Is there away to transfer data on a Commodore 64 5.25 Floppy to a CD or 3.5 disk. I have some very old data that I need to get access to. Does anyone know how to do it of anyone that does it. I would prefer to burn it to a CD. |

You can use Starcommander (http://sta.c64.org when I'm right) to transfer files from 1541 to a PC, but you need to have a fitting cable. I think at the Go64 shop should be some of them... |

There are three ways, more or less easy, depending on your equipment or motivation to buy new equipment:
1. Old 5.25 PC floppy connected to the Catweasel controller. (www.ami.ga)
2. Build or buy an XE1541 cable from sta.c64.org. Connects your old 1541 Floppy to the parallel port of your PC.
3. Copy your data from the 1541 to a 3.5" disk with a 1581. You can then access the data with d81copy in your PC floppy. (www.d81.de) |

4. Use a RS232 solution, like over5, a terminal program, etc. All's you need is a userport RS232 line level converter, not necessarily a UART-based cartridge (though those are a lot faster). |

If you like "GEOS" you could try "GEODOS":

Burn it on CD, then use IDE64 with d64 exporter plugin. Less than 30 sec for a diskside. |

So there's a CD burner for the C64 out there? Interesting... ;-) |
