Crackers cracking Minigame compo entries

Isn't it just lame eh? Cracking groups releasing C64 entries for the minigame compo. I think it is ever so lame. It appears that fake labels seem to be taking over the cracking scene nowadays. Mainly by Fortress and Lap Dancers.

I think those groups may have either been bored out of their skin, or just wanted to be popular.

I wont let lamer labels do firstreleases of my games because I get sick and tired of these. Take a look at http://www.redesign.sk/tnd64/note.html If they do, I'll make sure those first releases are -removed- from the ftps.

Okay TMR, you heard Taper: time to give it up. No more pretending you're "Richard Baylis". We never fell for it anyway ..

Quote: Hmm. VN40 eh? I look forward to that. If I see any news regarding my silly antics in the past and present, I'll just take no notice :) It appears that I have been taking this scene thing too far and too serious, which is not really worth the effort. I shouldn't be put off by other people releasing my work on a fake label.

If I see another Urine, Fortress, Secret, Sealsex or Lap Dancers firstrelease of any new games I make, I'll just ignore it. Even if there are harsh comments about me.

I am 24 year old man, and I should not take these things too seriously and act like a big kid. Especially flaming at many sceners, because it just lands me into a whole lot of trouble. Plus I would lose friends.

Whoever does a first release of Washout on fake label. I won't take any notice. In fact, I think I'll keep off those FTPs and just get on with my own life and Commodore programming.

BTW: Russian Toilette was a fake game of mine :)

Richard, it is good to hear that you mentioned that you have to stop acting like a fool. You would lose support from other people, if you carried on being a complete lamer.

For a start off, do as you said. Keep away from FTPs and carry on with your programming and music. Take note of what sceners would expect from you. A good attitude.

Quit spamming shit on forums and only add news of any games which have good quality on C64.sk news portal, else don't bother adding any news about your new game/release at all.

Oh and Richard, best of luck with your work.

@Slator, Blazon is a real quality label. We deal with quality first releases, which have been programmed in 100% assembly. Plus games that are not of good quality we either leave these alone, and leave them to other groups, or we release on Lap Dancers label instead.

We are also the new owners of 'Fortress'.

That's it =-)

We'll see how that goes.. I've seen this lame-activity/apology cycle quite many times so I'm somewhat sceptic. For as long as people react, yeah it's quite easy way to get attention with little valuable work needed..

It sounds as if Richard has an Alter-Ego, just like in the movie 'Me, Myself and Irene' =-))

Lets wish and hope Richard calms down and stop those stupid lamer things.

I just wait for Ironstone Partners (or maybe Cronosoft or someone else trying to get some fresh commercial value into the C64 community) to have their first releases cracked within a few days after publishing, and then they get angry and make Tulip shut down _all_ unlicensed sites dealing with Commodore computers. Then you/we really have to go underground.

By the way, when I finally will release a C64-compatible MiniGame, it will have a built in trainer, so nobody does have to bother to add one. That's fair, isn't it?

But your game will be introlinked anyway for firstrelease points.. :)

Btw. notice, however, how crackers have presented surprising courtesy towards recent PTV releases. Though I have a gut feeling that same courtesy wouldn't extend to Ironstone ;)

It is nice to see that there are still people supporting the retro-commercial market. I am hoping we will see some more quality C64 commercial releases in the future. Who knows, maybe I might buy them for my C64.
