G64 file format

Hi !

Is there some kind of app that I can use to transfer original disks to my PC in a .G64 format AND works with Windows XP? I know CBM4Win but it only transfers non protected disks and it does not support .G64 format which is the best for protected disks. Thank you

For transferring protected disks you need a parallel cable and use nmib.

Thanks Mason for this really fast reply! I use a device bought on ebay that plugs in the LPT1 port of my PC. A standard C64 cable is plugged from my 1541 to the device plugged in the PC. I'll try nmib.

if you want the latest software use nibtools http://c64preservation.com/files/nibtools/ (mnib is no longer developed i think)

Sadly it does not work for me. It sees a 1541 drive, device 0 but returns a "Driver error,00,00" ??

Peter is still producing the cables for parallel
transers. I just received one from him last month!!

Ask him for your needs and he will let you know
what to do.

I paied 27USD for my cable and I need to solder the
thing to my 1541, but it seems easy though!

I looks simple, but it turned out harder than I thought :)
Soldering to the pins of the IC in the drive is quite a bitch...
