The programmer who worked on Forgotten Worlds told me, the game was designed so that next level would load (from tape) while the current level plays. Which sounded impressive. US Gold viewed that as too risky and insisted that the player completed each level and waited for the next to load. Or maybe they just wanted an excuse to displayed some load images as the story progressed. |

The Zzap64 review of Dragon's Lair mentions a similar system; loading level n+1 while level n is being played. I don't think this feature was in the production copies, though. |
