Getting on the net
Hello!
This question isn't C64 related per se, but I guess it may be of interest to other C64 users too, so...
I have previously used a PC when getting onto the net with a C64. On the PC I had two network cards and just enabled "Internet Sharing" from the ethernet card connected to the net, to the other one, and connecting the C64 to this "other one".
However, in these days I am using a mac. There is a similar internet sharing function in mac, and I have managed to get onto the net with a PC connected through the mac. However, when I connect the C64 instead, it doesn't work. I have tried both codenet and SounDemoN's "term" (included in the Turbo Action ROM v.2). "Term" also has DHCP...
Anyway, I do not get any indications of being connected when I am on the C64. Well, I do see a difference when the cable is connected or not when using "Term". If I disconnect the cable either from the mac or from the C64 it says "no 10Base link detected", and whenever I connect it it starts saying "sending ARP request...", but nothing more...
I use the same cable as I used to get on the net with the PC connected through the mac, so the cable should not be the problem either.
Anyone else succeded in using a Mac as a gateway for the C64 in this way? Any tips n trix?
EDIT: I finally actually managed to connect with "TERM" to antidote, when I typed in the IP of antidote manually. However, DHCP is still not working. Anyone? |
