Fairlight Demo
Hi Everyone.
I'm looking for a fairlight demo. I believe it was Fairlight anyway..
Uhm. Description...
There is a sprite-multiplexer scroll in the side-borders and of coz it's running a dycp through it. The thing with the scroll is the lettering moves along the sine or with the sine. I keep thinking "warble scroll". I also think there were little star sprites about the screen.
I do hope someone knows the name of this fine production, as I really want to see that effect again.
Thanks in advance!

'Warble scroll' made me think about part 3 from Legoland 2/FLT... but it is probably not the demo you mean. |

Maybe Geggin's snurkel-scroll in Wonderland 8 (by Censor)?
Or maybe you watched it on Amiga? ->

There was also another nice snurkel scroll on c64 done by a group from Germany. Was it Comic Pirates, Creatures, Plush? I do not remember. |

I haven't seen the demo on Amiga, but the name is right.
It was a much smaller scale than contained in the link, and the scroller followed the sine pattern. Well, not the scroll.. The characters in the scroll, very similar to the Fairlight demo link given.
I'm shocked I don't recall the name of the demo. I was in awe when I first saw it and now that I want to show someone else that effect, I can't find it, hahaha.
But snurkle (or snurkel) IS what the scroll was called and I do believe it was done by fairlight. The screen only had a logo on top (or bottom) and the rest was dedicated to the scroll (which was in the side borders as well). |

The 64ever version was pretty decent, but looked as if it was composed fully of sprites. And the animation sequence seems a bit off, like it only animates when it hits the top or bottom section of the sine.
The one I saw was simply incredible, as the animation sequence was far smoother, and the characters looked as if they were 8 pixels high, like a normal cset.
If memory serves correct, there were also star sprites plotted about the screen, animated of coz.
DPL and myself are "bothering" some of the FLT guys, seeing if we can get answers to which demo it was. We hope they answer soon and if they do, I'll post which demo it was, so everybody can enjoy this fabulous routine. |

I really thought it was FLT that released it. I also thought the scroll was smaller, but this is the one I was looking for!!!
Thanks Clarence!!!
