NTSC Screen Dimensions
sooo... time to fix NTSC output in VICE :)
i already added proper support for aspect ratio (0,936 for pal, 0,75 for ntsc), which makes the currently wrong border dimensions very obvious :)
redrumloa made this screencapture: http://hitmen.c02.at/temp/real_ntsc_c128_captured.png which is already a nice starting point. however, i'd like to see a couple more screenshots, which have been made with a camera from actual ntsc monitors. both from "normal" monitors, and also from one which is in use by a coder who tweaked the geometry settings to show as much border as possible (this is needed for the "full borders" option).
so ntsc people... your turn :)
(oh and, if you happen to own a DREAN setup - same thing there, screenshots please :))

Happy to help NTSC VICE, at least in this small way. Grab mine here:

It's from my C128D running on a 2002 monitor. I left it big in case the detail matters. |

@Groepaz: I use a SONY Trinitron PVM-1343MD with my C64s which autodetects PAL or NTSC, to I can alternate between 64 hardware.
I would be more than willing to contribute some digital photos..What resolution(s) would be preferred for these screen shots?

pal/ntsc screenshots from the same display would probably be very helpful.... please do it :) as for size.... bigger is better (ask your gf) =) no idea HOW big it still makes sense though =) |

My Canon Powershot goes up to 8.0 megapixels so I'll try to snap a series of pics at its highest resolution of both NTSC and PAL sometime today.
Edit: I have taken five NTSC and five PAL screenshots. If there were an FTP site or similar I could upload the 53.7MB rar-ball.
EditII: I sent you 3 emails for a total of 6 images which utilized various lighting conditions and several distances from the CRT. Glad to help and let me know if you need any more. |
