How long to transfer disks with XM1541 cable
I just bought XM1541 cable(adapter) just waiting for it..
How long does it take to transfer a whole Disk from 1541 drive to PC? what about a 180k file?
I also have JiffyDOS Installed so that should help?

Hello,
If speed is an issue you might consider a XMP variation of your cable. That requires a modification in your drive though.
With a XMP i have speeds from 20-30 seconds per diskside(.d64). When talking of a 180K file, do you mean a d64 image ?

It takes 2 mins. to transfer a diskside, to produce a 170k D64 with CBM4WIN. |

I'm using a XAP cable with a 1571 with jiffydos. It's about 20 secs a side, barring errors. I'm using cbmxfer right now and it works pretty good, however when it runs into an error it can't deal with, it stops, and reseting the program, turning the drive off, etc. nothing works except rebooting the system. Have some pretty dirty disks here that I'm trying to backup.
