VICE & SID / SOUND error
Here the other day I got a:
VICE Error!
Sound: Sound buffer overflow (cycle based)
Now I can't remeber twiddling with it but maybee I did maybee I didn't. I didn't worry about it just restarted VICE and went on with my business (Which doesen't involve sound atm.) Then I figgured I'd watch some of the X2010 contributions where a lot of SID tunes where praised. On my setup things where terribly wrong. I double checked with one of my own releases and same thing.
Of fakk it, I'll reset to factory default but no success there. Alright, next is re-install VICE with the latest Binary for win-64 on the VICE - HP (When do we get new ones anyway?)
but still the sound is messed up. It runs slow or if I mess about with the sound settings it echoes and other strange shiz.
Normal sound (sound generated inside windows) works just fine.
I'm running win7 64bit on a HP EliteBook 8540w and I have no fakking clue what the problem is. And I am 97,3% sure this has been working before...
any pointers? |

I get these errors as well, also running win7x64.
A reboot fixes it for me tho.
Using resid with upsampling makes vice run at 75 percent and lower speed on my dualcore conroe 2x3ghz... Obviously VICE's audio code isn't very good...
I also use CCS3 and Hoxs so there's always options.

try the binaries posted here: Help test x64sc, the next generation x64.
the sound issue should have been fixed a while ago :) |

Somebody should also fix the terrible NTSC mode that is broken since years. |

somebody should make some decent bugreports, because all known ntsc issues have been fixed years ago. *hint* |
