128 vdc 64k advice
hi, just got another 128 and want to upgrade the vdc to 64k. I notice there is 2 methods, either soldering or a plugin board.
just curious what others used to make theirs 64k. also saw the add-on board on ebay, but is there anywhere else that still does them and does it matter about pal & ntsc also regarding timing?
thanks for any help, in advance.

I think I soldered mine in directly. I could have found a board, but I heard that the its hard to get the lid back on the little box it sits in afterwards.
I think I even have some of the chips around here somewhere. |

If you decide to have more than one 128s, make sure you have both the 8580 and 6581 versions. That also means, you will have at least one with 64KB of VDC memory.
So basically, it is just what Graham advised: get a DCR. |

yeah, I've been coding so much more on the c128dcr than on the old breadbox, simply love that machine. |
