ZDF looking for a cracker / demomaker for a TV-program
Hi there.
I was contacted by a person from the german TV-station ZDF who want to make a TV program about the development from cracker to demo-scene, and he is looking for someone who want to participate.
Here is what he wrote to me: (Slightly edited)
----------------------------------------------
We are searching for a formerly "cracker" (preferably german) who provided "us", long time ago, with wonderful Animations (I guess he means demos) and games. I am an old C64 and Amiga-User!
We are producing a tv-feature: from "Crackers to the Demo-Scene", and therfore, I am looking for an interview-partner, about the good old times. Again preferably german. (we can do a blurry interview if you want to stay anonymous :-) ).
If it is possible, it would be very nice, if that guy could be located in Germany...the best would be in the Rhein-Main-Area....but we also could do some travelling in Germany.
Another possibility could be an interview over Skype or so.
The time-slot would be this week, or next wekk from Monday to Wednesday next week (01,02 or 3.th of november)
----------------------------------------------------
Perff writing...
He didn't tell me if I could write his E-mail here, so I didn't. So for now I'll stay middleman. :)
Please PM me if you want me to contact him for you. |

... anyway...
If anyone wants to give it a try, and make these TV-people make a 'real' view on how it was, please send me a PM with your contact info, and I'll pass it on to the ZDF guys.
@Groepaz: I guess I can count you out already!? ;)

i have had my share with them already, like i said =) if they'd actually *care* then they wouldnt ask for "someone", nor give you a one week timeframe. they just want someone who tells how in 80s he made a crack and then a demo. and then comes a cut and PoP. =P |

Quote: I wouldn't mind some TV coverage that would tell things how they really were, with many-faceted interviews and actual well-known and respected sceners.
Alas, the shows i've seen so far did things like removing all traces of alcohol and actual party in demo party footage, delivering a skewed image and max. 50% of what it all is about..
But with this feature, the people volunteering for that might have enough influence on the production team to make it good for once.
We'll see :)
I think it would be great to see some of the scene's ppl getting some airtime, fantastic opportunity! but.. I wouldn't be too surprised if what Groepaz mentioned above happened to some degree, unless the person getting interviewed put forward some terms and conditions of how the interview+story should go down before hand ;)
Control the media, don't let media control you! :D

What was it about? I couldn't get past the extreme closeup of the announcer's nosehairs. I mean, what the hell.
