New upload function for releases

It is now possible to upload releases to CSDb for other to download.

To upload a release go to the release's entry-page and hit the update-button. Then there is an upload function just below the 'add link' function.
When a file is uploaded a link to it will automaticly be made, and it's ready for download right away.
To try to avoid abuse we ofcause log who upload what, and it's only possible to upload files smaller than 512kb.

To remove an uploaded file simply remove it's download link.

So does this MD5 hash also work with zip files that were created with different tools or compression ratios? Or are we supposed to upload the files as plain d64?

just a little reminder. It might be smart to 'not allow' uploads of cracks, in case of copyrights and stuff. Don't wanna see this get in trouble. Normally the links were to other site, but uploaded cracks are on your own site. Might not be a good idea...

a well.. back to work.. later guys!

about the MD5 hash:
It does only check on the current file uploaded. If the same D64 is compressed in two different ways and uploaded, they will probably (aprox 1 to 2^128) NOT be taken as the same file.

Cracks:
Unless its very new cracks (is there such things?) I don't think there are much copy-right left on c64-stuff?
You see a LOT of sites out there containing old c64 games, and I havn't heard about any of them getting into trouble.

Be careful with that!
The funet.fi archives had to delete the VIC20 firmware ROMs lately and cia.c64.org had to shut down because the IDSA complained about some copyright infringement.
I'd hate to see this whole site go down just because a few copyright protected games got uploaded - better safe than sorry.

perhaps in the games and cracks section remove the upload function. This could solve any problem.... I doubt it will cause problems, but hell, just to be on the safe side, this might be an idea?

Hmm, uploading new releases isn't a bad idea, but a loud 'feck you!' to IDSA!

We don't need that piece of shit government! Concentrate on getting real criminals (those who kill, maim and violent)
