NEC Intro

I wrote an intro for NEC a long time ago. I'm not sure what release the intro was ever used for. I was semi-retired at the time, so I never saw it. I've gathered emulation images for most of my intros/demos from various websites through the years, but I've never come across that one. If someone has it, can you let me know?

Could you describe the intro a bit? I could search my disks, but it would be easier if I knew what I was looking for rather then having to check the credits for each intro.

Also, did you check c64-intros at http://intros.c64.org/ ?

Hard to remember. The only notable thing I remember on the intro was the bottom portion had red raster pipes that moved in a tube formation from top to bottom.

It's also the only NEC intro that says "Intro by Death Demon/FBR", although I think there was some contention about leaving the "FBR" in there and Zsolt may have removed that part of my name.

Do you know what year it was done in? I'm wondering if it was used on a crack imported to Europe?

Maybe 1989 or 1990?

Well I'm quite sure the intro was used because I remember thinking it a bit strange when I first viewed it. Strange in the sense that I knew you were done-ish with the scene and that Zsolt would use it.

I'll try to find the intro this weekend.

As H.O. wrote - check http://intros.c64.org for this or use this link:

http://intros.c64.org/?gid=301

I have checked our intros cvs system and there are no more NEC intros at the moment.

Moloch, I've been off IRC for a bit, not sure if I'm going to be able to pop back on anytime soon. Any luck finding it? I know I said this on IRC, but I'm repeating it in case anybody else reads this. It's the one where a Demon sprite fades onto the screen, raises his hand, and lightening shoots out while "NEC" pops up. Also, the lightening may have been removed for a different effect. I had four different animations I as going to use. Not sure which Zsolt picked. After that, the demon fades out and the intro starts.

Haven't found it yet, but it's there in my boxes and boxes of disks.

I'll be looking again this week between breaks from working on a demo.

I found the release with the intro while cataloging disks to transfer this evening.

I'll transfer the disk over tonight.

The intro is on the NEC crack of Altered Beast (US version).

There is a D64 image here:

Thanks a lot Moloch! I DL'ed it last night. I appreciate it! It's not the version I had hoped he used though. There was one more cool effect down below. I had a bunch of raster bars rotating in a tube formation and some text on the screen. The bars rotated "in front" and "behind" the text so it looked like they were coming in and going out of the monitor. But that took up a bit more memory for the mini-frame buffer. I created a couple of different versions of the intro. I guess that one will just have to be lost forever since it wasn't used. It also said "Death Demon/FBR" on it.

But thanks dude! This was a big help for me! Now I think my collection of released work is just about complete.

Yep, sure. Besides, it got me off my butt to transfer over some disks... making some others happy aswell.

I remember seeing this intro. Must have it somewhere in my diskboxes, I don't know however if it's the special version you are looking for. Probably not. Gimme another year and I will find out ;)
