interview with the dynamic duo
hi folx,
i know this is more a request for the german headz'
there was a german tv-magazine showing a interview
with the dynamic duo guys and also headbanger showed up.
i remind that headbanger was talking about selling games and dynamic duo where NOPping a protection out and was talking about how easily protections can be removed.
i really can't remember the name of the tv-magazine. i think it was showed in the second half of the 80's.
maybe any of you guys got this on a vhs-video or whatever.
i really would like to see this once again in my live.
just give me a shout.

probably WDR (West Deutscher Rundfunk)Show "Highscore", they had several shows about the "cracking-scene" including a interview-round with well known cracker and günni :) |

@celticdesign
I do remember the show you are talking about ...
But as far as i can remember it was not shown in the show "HIGHSCORE" it was a different one which normally doesnt report about computer suff at all ...
maybe it was the "ZDF". I just remember to be called by IRATA (TRSI) who told us to switch the TV on at the same day.... but unfortunatly we did not record it on VHS ...
It should be quite difficult to find a VHS Tape of that today. Especially because one of the Dynamic Duo Members died some years ago ... and Headbanger moved to the U.S.

thanks for the info skylab
i really can not remember if it was HIGHSCORE.
maybe something like PLUSMINUS or MONITOR.
who knows. i am wondering that no one else can remember this stuff. back in the das wasnt much to watch in the german tv. and stuff about computers/hackers/crackers was a damn rarity.
maybe some more guys with more knowledge will find this post sooner or later.
peace

i have an avi somewhere with a report showing members of the wanderer group cracking some game... mmmh never heard of the dynamic duo one :=P
another interisting thing to find would be the report done by WDR on the radwar party (rainbow party if i recall correctly) which should feature interviews with a few famous ppl. |

I've seen a few minutes of interview with Mario van Zeist (in HIGHSCORE), he was the other party in the interview, the copyprotection expert or something.. maybe get in touch with him, he's been a lifetime member of Radwar as well. Im not sure if he or other Radwar members know more about that DD interview.. |

Well the version of typhoon by twg that got spread was the real crack.
The live crack was most likely not spread as it was just to show how easy it was to crack it and no more. They just took an old original for that and typed some crap into their intro-editor and that's it. No big deal at all.
check the entry in csdb

Nope we still need to get plenty of disks transferred and make sure we found all versions of each game ever released.
So alot is missing! |

Yes, thats right.
We took the old Typhoon original, cracked it live for the WDR-guys, linked an intro to it and wrote some text only for the proof of concept.
But we never released this kind of crack.
Perhaps I'll find that "live-crack" on one of my old c64 disks, but I've to search for it...

I was part of the production crew of "Highscore", but I can't remember an interview with Dynamic Duo. Sadly I lost most of the documents from the show (I only still own the timetables of one of the shows).
The WDR/Highscore team was present on the Radwar Part 4 (Apocalypse Now), doing some interviews and reports... ahhh I wish I could see all the Highscore shows again. |
