The X-2006 party 'bring your floppys thread'
Hello,
Are you going to the X-2006 party ?
and you still have alot of floppies laying around ?
In that case, bring them along, as, Acidchid & MdZ will
be very happy to transfer them during the party.
Hopefully we will be finding alot of demos/cracks
that are currently on the wanted lists :-)
ftp://ftp.scs-trc.net/pub/c64/WANTED_DEMOS.TXT
ftp://ftp.scs-trc.net/pub/c64/WANTED_CRACKS.TXT
Regards,
CBA, Acidchild & Mdz
Ps. Oh yeah, if you have transferd your own disks, your welcome to upload them to The Digital Dungeon at
ftp://ftp.scs-trc.net/pub/c64/incoming/Misc :-) |

well no problem, we will transfer them at home and sent
them back to you including a CD full of .d64 images.
How about that.

From a discussion on IRC:
Not only bring your floppys, but also bring your RR-Nets. Transferring 2000 floppys takes 33 hours nonstop action for a single person even with Warpcopy. |

i don't really want to give these disks away, i actually wouldnt really mind transferring them myself if someone *cough* would make that warpcopy client that works on linux =) |

I've been discussing this with Graham, but the communication stopped when I asked about the protocol used. :)
I reverse-engineered the codenet protocol (to put full codenet support in my Cyberpunx RR rom hack), but I'd prefer not to do that again. I'd rather have the protocol information directly from Graham. :)
My plan was to make a simple command-line version of warpcopy, using Graham's original C64 stub.

Thanks for the reminder CBA :)
just remembered I still have a nice collection of 56 old 1581 disks which were saved by DMI ex-Acrise. He gave them to me a few weeks back containing 1623 singlefiles.
I've dropped Mason and Acidchild an email with the full list (since I promissed them both to do so years ago) so very curious to see how many releases they'll find in there that were previously lost.
Just quickly scanning through the wanted cracks list I can easily find a few wanted things from Acrise, Triad, 711, Chromance, Hotline, WOW, Trance, etc. so hope those two have more time on their hands than I have to investigate further :)

I just returned from the basement with what seems to be the pittyfull remains of my c64 disks. its probably about 100-150 floppys (without the covers on them) stashed in a box.
From the writings on the disk "greetings from dominators" and other groupnames tagged on them i assume they must be my swapdisks from back then.
I could bring them along

hey groepaz, I got warpcopy.exe (from warpcopy 0.6) running fine in wine (debian testing) (as root).
although the graphics look like crap (buttons not visible, but they are working), it is working :)
Graham, release a nice ncurses client (no need for fancy gui stuff) ;) |
