Searching for this picture

It was shown with a test of Advanced OCPArt Studio in German Happy Computer 10/1988. Does anyone has this picture?

The ship has been salvaged, but they didn't want to take the monkey.
To compensate, they left him a cigarette, though:

That calls for a code that does a cross-correlation-test of the screenshot with all combinations of all pixels/colors after a gaussian blur + slight screen-bend. Hey, that's only 16^32000 combinations :) Since it's mere MC even less! yay

Your posts are funny but they don't answer the poster's question.

You are wasting your, his, Perff's (he pointed this thread out), and my (as I write this) valuable time. New poster dares to ask question and he should meet support or at least positive response. Not mocking up.

Keep that in mind for next time when your brain is tickled by the idea of trashing thread with some silly response.

I feel deeply sorry for poor Gulag. All he wanted was a sensible answer for quite an interesting piece of Commodore history, but once again this thread has been invaded.

First, let me excuse to the original poster.
Yet I go on fooling around...

CreaMD, we're terribly sorry, but it's so quiet on CSDb lately, that we need some playing around.

TwoFlower, nice stuff! :)

As a serious note, though: I don't know the picture at all.

Yeah, Knoeki is (a bit) right.

And where is Archmage's post, right before where I said that I slinked off?
It was quite senseful!

Could you please stop with this nonsense?
That guy was asking a decent picture-id and what do you all do? Making fun of him!
Is this the C64 scene nowadays? Hmmm?
Maybe he was planning a comeback and now you've scared him off!
You all should sod off and go to pouet!
Bastards!

It'd be pretty easy to convert an image such as that to a normal Koala or Advanced Art Studio pic. Some errors are in the image though - in the scan the border is added, that should be removed. Color recognition has to be done manually, a quite easy task since the C-64 got 16 colors. My suggestion - scan it (straighter this time) in atleast twice the resolution (640x400 or above). Use higher contrast settings while scanning and don't save the result as a .jpg. Use .png or some other non-destructive format.

Anybody knows any pixeler, possibly Compunet artist, using "H" to sign his pictures? Quite nice pic, but not that advanced technique, not even for 1988. I doubt that the pic is anything that came with the program, but you never know. I seem to recall a pic of a mandrill along with Advanced Art Studio - any clue?

Guys, don't be such gurnties. There's a plenty of data space, two or more funny (or less funny space) won't end the world. All the more, it will push up the moral of the scene and perha[s even make a few of our (very) talented gals (or gals) (sometimes lazy) guys pixel a thing or two (hi Twoflower! ;)

And for the end, I'm guessing this ain't a C64 pixel thingy at all...
Oswaaald where's my plus/4 P1?? :D
+ Archmage is the G.O.D. (no, serioulsy :))!!!

Twoflower : your right , it had the mandrill pic and tuttenkarmon on the original disc and the normal art studio had a andriod chick on it.

I have the original still, I will have a look at the manual or perhaps boot up ye olde c64.

I personally don't recall any compunet people with the signature H.. t.m.r would know better about compunet demos

only name that came to my mind is hugh binns or hugh riley..

but then again since its a german thing .. could be heinrik etc..

although released thru firebird/rainbird it was made by Oxford Computer Publishing Limited...
(wonder if they made ED 209 later ;-) )

no credits on the art studio manual, I dunno where i've left the "advanced manual" ,it's around somewhere but where eeek =/

I like the new version also..

ok.. i thought a bit more, remembered there is credits within the program..

go misc > version number

2 names come up

coder > chris saunders
original version > James Hutchby

maybe that what the H stands for =) Hutchby

he also gets a mention here >

http://art.speccy.cz/art.htm
if you do a search for hutchby..

I didn't find the other manual yet.

Great thread, laughed very much 3 years ago at it.
So did anyone upload those demo/test images yet?
Did anyone actually find the original files on any bought version part from the baboon?
