Micrus Copy with protection
I'm looking for any version of Micrus Copy (Disk->Tape). The one in the CSDB database by AJOT (Micrus Copy) is not the one I'm looking for. The program I am looking for provides "special copy" function by adding simple copy protection to final file. You can still find some files with SYS nnnn MICRUS COPY in the first line. Those are the ones protected by this function. |

The one the author has on his homepage is the same version as the one here on CSDb?

Guess if he provides no other versions, it's likely that he does not have them anymore.
But maybe you can contact him somehow on his page? |

I doubt this is the original author of the software I am looking for. |

It's no doubt I wrote this program. The page has now been moved to:

I'm not looking for the one that brakes the protection. I am looking for the one that copies files and adds copy protection. Hence I belive someone else wrote it. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Pointing to a working copy (especially the one fixed by Slash) will be also vary valuable for me ;) |

And another topic, I wrote a program that breaks such protections, but never wrote a program that secures programs like this. - sorry, but I'm a Pole and I do not speak English and when I read or reply I use google translator. |

Yes AlexC, the original protection program was written by someone else. It is not available anywhere on C64 related pages (so far), hopefully someone will put it out for public one day :)
Also note, there are 2-3 versions of this protection, so there are probably 2-3 version of the coding program ;)
AJOT just wrote the decoder, also there are other simpler ways to deprotect the files, but I guess that's not what you're interested in. |
