New WEB BBS project

I am involved in a new C64 related webpage project. It will be something quite special and oldschool in some ways too.

We are needing coder for the WEB BBS (like Spankerz Heaven by Burglar/Scs&Trc or Second to None by Dave/Legend) who can make the outfit.

Design and graphics are already taken care of.

Please email me if you want to be involved in a more original promotion of a true C64 BBS on the WEB. :) I mean true as in the gfx and design based on a proper C*Base BBS.

Macx: That would be fantastic, please email me the samples as soon as possible. Also the sounds CCGMS makes, when you make posts on C*Base boards and you can make a sound happen when someone reads your post.

Making a C64 BBS on the web properly is a matter of emulating a real C64 BBS as accurately as possible. Like how an emulator emulates a C64 for example.
Another main factor is the administration and users. The 'feel' of a real C64 BBS (which only old board callers truely know) may also occur on this upcoming project.

What I am searching for is any C64 BBS buffers people may have. Please email me if you do.

Getting those sounds is by pressing cbm key together with "V" and other letters. Try it. (CCGMS) you can also flash the screen by pressing CBM+B+0/1 holding all keys then pressing either zero or one to flash the screen black and white. There is many other little things like this in CCGMS but I have to be sitting in front of it to explain.
Most of these were picked up from years of not only connecting to boards, but mainly individual users. After finishing uploading a file or something from the person, they would be making a coffee or away in the room somewhere. So you would make the terminal program play a sound or make the screen flash to grab their attention to get back to the computer :))

Well, I've been making original graphics for it (via emulator; curse hardware failure) for a bit now. I can also digitize the CCGMS sounds if nobody else has done so yet. Figured out how to do it three minutes ago.

Someone should make a Commodore-ish font for download so that the text can look proper as well. I point the finger elsewhere because I'm no good at that (on the 64, yeah, but not PC/Mac).

I have that somewhere on the Amiga..

Arpegiator/TRSI (?)once made a module "The AT&T Remix"
That contains a "thankyou for using AT&T" sample if I remember well.
