amazing... there are special alignment tapes ? whats on them? analogue test signals like on these impossible-to-get analogue service discs?
i always used a known "good" tape (like some rarely used original or something) together with a tape-alignment tool published in the input64 magazine years ago.... worked very well for me :)

btw i forgot.... if you have a tape image, how do you write it to a real tape and make sure the device you use for writing is not misaligned at the same time? sounds like a nono to me :=) (you can not write a "good" tape unless you know for sure the device is aligned correctly...which in turn means you dont need the tape to align it at all :=)) |

The tape i had run on the commodore and gave a visual reading thus making it more reliable than most other methods.
I will worry how to convert the tape image if i can get one.
Anyone else have any comments or even the image i need ? |
