C64 Paperclip

I have been unable to find paperclip for the C64 anywhere?

I am trying to recover a clergyman’s research for him. His 64 went down 10 years ago and now he needs to recover his work.

I have installed VICE on my pc, he says that his work was created using PaperClip on 5 ¼ ‘ floppies.

I am trying to do this old fellow a favor by converting the data to text format and burning it for him.

Desperately,
cp

hmm, I've got Paperclip 3 (original, needs dongle), but I'd say rip the files to the PC and see what the format looks like. Usually, you can just filter out all chars less than 32 or greater than 127 and have a plain text file.

That would be awesome. It's the least I could try for starters. FTP?

FTP? You mean for PaperClip 3? I've got the 5.25" disk in a box somewhere. When I say you should rip the files to the PC and try to convert them, I mean the guy's old paperclip files, not the paperclip program.

Yes, I know what you mean, but I've been searching hi/lo for weeks trying to find Paperclip 1 with no success.

I don't even know if 3 is supported by C64? I only see ads on net referring to Paperclip 3 for C128.

Here's the disk that I had. I guess it's a copy of Paperclip 1. I have an original disk that says "Paperclip", but I can't transfer it due to track 1 errors, which are probably copy protection. Neither of these programs run on my 128 (in 64 mode) anyway, presumably because I don't know where the spellcheck dongle is that plugs into the joystick port. Vice can't run it either.
