Just 2 terminal programs on both side (the default one from Windows (HyperTerminal?)) and one on amiga that I can't remember the name of anymore - it's been a while. |

use TERM (v4.2) ...
there was a Cable with 4 or 8 Lines to for the transfering... try to search for it in the aminet... with this cable you could access the pc hd like a normal amiga drive... |

try as much as you wish. if you just want to send a few
small files occasionally a nullmodem and ncomm or term
on amiga will do. if you want to transfer bigger files
there is pc2am where you can use parallell cable
judging by this text in the readme for wartrans it doesnt
look like a top choise
'And btw IMPORTANT *flash flash and so one* the hexfile cant be bigger than 32767 bytes (that means the binary cant be bigger than 16383 bytes) because the limitations of some of the seperating strings running in AmigaBasic.'

While it is not a cable, I always used a 720K floppy and some software (CrossDOS or other free alternative) to transfer data. I don't know if it is slower than a null modem, but the benefit is I can bring the disk to another PC than the one at my desk.
Since I still haven't wired my own X*1541 cable, I'm using the equivalent Amiga IEC cable and thus have to go through the Amiga if I want to transfer files from or to my 5.25" disks. |
