@Didi I'm new to Excess, I wasn't involved in this release and I don't want to add to the drama at all, just trying to make sense of it: As far as I know, the original won't work with some hardware like the all-famous SD2IEC. I'd personally say "who cares", but it seems a lot of ppl want to play their games on stuff like that, so that's the main point for replacing a great loader with something compatible with stock protocol. And regarding your point, I'd really consider a used block not marked as such in the BAM "broken". But I guess that's not the issue here.

Startfile of the original disk resides in track 18. If you do not copy full track 18 when copying to real disk (which is the case when using BAM Disk Copy) it may result in a non-working disk.

Sorry, but I don't get it. I mean, yeah, there's unlimited everything and some extra money at start, etc. But other than that, why did you replace the loader? Original was way faster and both d64 and crt worked fine on PAL C64. I had no NTSC to test on tho and as mentioned Bitfire doesn't like multiple drives on the bus. What was the issue on your side?

Same for me. CRT mounted in 1541U2 and d64 running from 1541U2 and copied to real disk in 1541 II drive work fine. Original disk uses Bitfire track/sector loading which is damn fast! Only issue is that it does not like more than one drive on the bus.

I *guess* the d64 doesn't work without a real floppy. This isn't the first patcher released, so what's wrong with providing ppl a way to have their original more compatible and trained?

Both original game files (d64 and crt) do work properly on real PAL hardware... I couldn't spot any problem.

This release is beyond my understanding.
breadbox warez != PC warez

Use this tool to convert your digital copy (which will not run on a real C64) to a version that you can actually use.
