Release id #185391 : Target 2 Preview
A Hardcore release in 1998? AFAIK Hardcore died in 1996 as it was absorbed by Onslaught after the co-op.
Calypso as member of Hardcore?
That's kind of a strange release... |

Hi Didi,
just do the math. The group died in 96 and a release surfaced much later from a formerly unknown member ...
Seems like there was a rebuild of the group planned, but it did not come to live ... |

It's not obvious at all, there's no "math" to do here. All seems just made up. |

Let me explain:
I found this release on one of the disks, I received from Calypso back when we were still swapping. The disk contained no disknote from him.
When I uploaded the release to CSDB, I remembered that Calypso participated at some stage, but I was not aware that HC had already died by 1998. After reading Didis comment and checking the related entries and release dates, I noticed that Didi is right. Then my first thought was, that there must have been a rebuild of the group in 1998. That is why I thought it is obvious. :-)
Since I had no memories about a (planned) rebuild, I started to dig in my old disks looking for more HC releases from that time. I did not find further ones, but what I actually found, are disknotes to/from different sceners (or just mentioning names) that were supposed to be involved with the project.
In the meantime I contacted some of the persons mentioned in the notes. By now one guy has confirmed that he was somehow involved, and I have also found the disknote in which Calypso confirms that he joins the rebuilt group.
Sorry for any confusion caused. |
