C64 tools mostly used

What C64 related tools made by demo groups do you often use for your C64 productions. Which one is your favourite, and why. Here's a list of the tools I mainly use.

DMC V5.0+
DMC V4.0
USA Music Assembler
XTC Packer V1.0
Cruncher AB
Faces Sprite Editor
Dunex Char Editor
Turbo Assembler V5.3
Action Replay MK VI
2MHZ Time Crunch V5.0
Equal Seq. Comp V2.2
Amica Paint
Dir Master V7.0

...there are other tools I use also, but it would fill a whole web page, so I show you just the main tools I use most of the time. ;o)

I collected all mine (except for amica paint v1.8 enhanced by sky/mdg) on lovetools. Also, I don't think that Oliver Stiller can be called a scener at the time he did amica paint.

mdg-packer/linker

The other Tools I used, were done by non-sceners, and nowadays I only use paint-magic, linking, packing, assembling etc done with xdev-tools.

Does pucrunch count ?

Man, it's been a long time since I thought about tools. Hrmm...

Well, I like Bit Imploder, though I'm not sure if a group made it. BGY Compactor is interesting as well. And DrazPaint rocks my world.

And I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Centauri Logo Editor. Heh.

Beside Furz-Editor I use DMC 7.0 ! :-P

Sometimes I think I am graphician and even try to paint graphics with drazlace, but the results are like those from the Furz-Editor...

That's an interesting thread for me. I want to try some tools.

If I am talking about PC then I prefer CCS64, but Vice is great too anyways (I just thought it was slow or had problems with sound at older times, but perhaps it was my old computer). And then I have used Star Commander. Perhaps I should try that cross developing tool mentioned here. I hope it's easy to start..

For gfx I have just tried Zoomatic once, but painting a picture was hard enough for me anyways (except from logos and fonts which I should try perhaps). I almost forgot many of the key combinations. It's a bit wicked to get used with the tiled color logic of C64 and key combinations. I almost did it but then forgot. Wondering if there are other gfx tools out there which might make C64 painting handier.

I haven't tried to track anything. For code I have only tried TASM and I like it very much. With Save/Load snapshots on the emulator it's handy. I really don't know how it would be to code assembly on the real C64. I don't have an action replay, so perhaps I'd have to reload the assembler numerous of times if a crash/bugs happens and C64 disk loading takes a lot. (I am already fed up with this on the CPC and only code in the assembler of Winape32 emulator)

I am interesting for gfx. Suggest me tools that might be easier to use. (I don't care about drawing with mouse or joystick/keys. I was always drawing with the keyboard on the CPC, so it's fine for me. I only care that I don't have to remember numerous of key combinations)

Oliver Stiller did some other tools. He produced (as previous post) the Masters Design Group packer, Amica Paint (a few versions I think) and also the 3D Message Maker. :)

What's this Furz-Editor? Is it sound related? Where can I find it?
