straight from YOUR playlist
if you encounter a piece of sound so great you want to hang yourself for not being able to write something of similar quality...
if you think you've just found the best music ever made...
if you think a certain song/tune/symphony contains some unusually awesome elements...
...and you want to share it with other c64 composers and not necessarily via your facebook wall, just do it here.
explanations, reviews and so on warmly welcome.
one link per day max.
have fun. |

i have to shamefully admit that only this Ministry joint is responsible for eventually introducing me to Butthole Surfers in the early 90s :|
KC in their Talking Heads period is always welcome too ;)
and if you dig some 'wrong' (ok, 'risky' or 'not quite casual') notes, perhaps Dorgas will do something to you?

I kinda dig Jankees, not afraid to go to highest pitchy octaves, noisy, lively, messy performance. My stuff really.
Next C64.sk cover compo (#3) is on 1st of january 2014. So if anyone has some favourite that he would like to hear on C64 feel free to cover it ;-) |

I've never been a My Bloody Valentine fan, but their new album (after >20 years of hiatus) came out yesterday and it is fantastic :o
the highlight IMHO:

reminds me of GRG's "Crack the Frequency" because of its glorious dissonancy ;) |

all fans of DELICIOUS chord progressions (and chess) - gather 'round the table \o/ the mighty McAloon strikes from 29 years ago.

those snare rolls at the beginning remind me a little bit of Elvis Costello's 1978 "Chelsea", also recommended ;) |

100% perfect recreation of late 80s/early 90s sound as a bonus. Johan Agebjörn is the man. |
