Event id #3002 : Filterless Single Channel Compo 2020
' -$x0, $x1, $x2, and $x3 are the only waveforms allowed.'
Do these x'es indicate that only these effects can be utilized but I can choose any waveform I want? :) So far it looks like any wavofm with gate and sync only possible - which doesn't make any sense with one voice :D |

Well, sync would still be within the rules as I understand them if you are only setting frequency but not waveform+gate for the linked voice… |

I suppose we're allowed to use triangle, sawtooth and their mixture. It's just notation which is wrong here. |

Why not fuck any waveform restrictions, dear Erik? =) To get anything listenable out of one voice without utilizing the filter is challenging enough.
And yeah ... if sync IS allowed, we need to be able to set the frequency of the modulating voice. |

Quote:-Only one channel can be used at a time. For example, if channel 3 is being used, channel 1 and channel 2 can't be used.
'only one channel can be used at a time' _or_ 'only one channel may be heard at a time'?
If the former, what constitutes use? Is it ok if it's silenced by testbit, but otherwise configured? |

Maybe postpone this compo for another time? It looks like musicians are focusing too much on Jojeli's compo right now. |

shouldnt be so hard, I was happy with playsid on miggy without filters, on most older sonds its not very noticable (for the non musician ears) |

Sure, but you played THREE voices and all waveforms available ;)
To get an idea imagine having to code Desert Dream in a monitor with your hands tight to your back and only your flaccid 11th finger available. |

@Eric Dobek
Any chance of extending compo deadline? |

In my humble opinion, the rules would make more sense if the limitation was one voice, all waveforms and filters. Then you can use all your smart-assery with scarce resources. Right now, it's more like "Take this 5 cent coin and go make us a dinner, but be creative". ;-) |
