Few answers to common questions raised:
Q – Partyman-service allows only one file to be uploaded. How shall I deliver the workstages?
A – Pack everything (PRG/D64, workstages etc.) into one ZIP file and upload.
Q – Can the music entries have dual SIDs?
A – No, we’ll play it all with vanilla C64. Just inform us if you want your song to be played either with a 6581R3, 6581R4AR or 8580R5.
Q – Will you release the workstages?
A – Yes, we will. We want to let our audience to see how the images are done. This way the audience as well has a change to judge the creation after the releases are in public. The workstages as well provide a glance into the process & newcomer a chance to see and study how the image is done. Read: for us the scene is about sharing your knowledge, not hiding it.
Q – The part of the graphics’ rules on converting is kinda fuzzy. What if I have taken an own photo or sketch – is conversion strictly prohibited with those as well?
A – With the new rules that pay attention to converting we are trying to emphasize part of creative work rather than technical knowledge and tools. Our main point has been to get rid of the googled collage conversions that are these days very common. Those do not fit our view on a pixel or PETSCII graphics competition. However, it is totally OK to use a reference image if you put in your own vision. What comes to an own sketch – digital or manual – you may of course use it as a base to start from. As an artist you most likely will know when you’re crossing the line from your own art into stealing. In case of reference image that’s used to make a ‘cover’ (remake) it’s as well polite to let the audience know who made the original. You can provide this information as txt file in the ZIP or inform when you submit your entry details. We are sorry the rules seem complicated but this is a complicated matter as well. Just provide us a good view of the work flow via workstages and all shall be good. |

either it is prolonged once more or the "TIMETABLE" on PARTYMAN displays UTC instead of EEST, very confusing, these darn time zones ^^ |

Thanks to the party organizers and those who submitted entries. I was entertained. I especially enjoyed the live feel of it coming from a party place. |

Thanks to everyone involved – staff, guests, participants and the audience. From our point of view we had a good (but exhausting) weekend with good content in all. Thanks for the great amount of compo entries – 75 entries in five categories is not bad at all.
In all we estimated a total of ca. 500 viewers, with a Twitch peak of +360 simultaneous viewers during demo compo.
As we stated in the stream, we really REALLY hope to do this as a live party next year again. However, after experiencing Zoo online (and accepting that Finland is very far from most of the viewers) we might have more content streamed in our future events as well. Stay tuned! |
