How about 'oldschool 3-color-logo compo' ?
Will this be a challenge for the graphicians?
- Entries have to be in simple multicolor mode (Koala, etc)
- Max. usage of 3 colors + background overall, of which one has to be one of the first 8 colors
- Has to be convertible into a single multicolor charset (max. 256 different chars)
- Has to be a "logo", means there must be something to read that makes some sense (no "grmblmpf", etc.). Might be a name, group name, etc.
- Logo is not limited to screen size.
- All entries must be handed in as excecutable format and be able to show the full logo.
- No music or visual effects allowed besides movers which are needed to show logo in full size.
- Must not be used in a public production before.
- Max. 3 entries per participant.
- Compo runtime: 1 month. |

Haha. Quoting Zyron's oneliner from this night: "00:17 - Zyron: First we need a crackintro logo compo." |

Had the idea earlier together with the crack intro music compo but did not want to run 2 compos simultanously. |

When should this compo start then? |

Music compo ends at end of January, maybe I'd start it in early February. Wanna do some pre-work? ;) |

maybe narrow the logo name to "laxity" so you will have enough logos and musics for all the stuff you release... |

Nice idea but that's not the focus of this compo. ;) I like the style how some graphicians did really great logos within very narrow limitations. That's something fascinating on C64 in general: Doing great stuff with very limited resources.
We still have some unused logos on stock, but if someone wants to do one: Feel free. But no guarantee we will use it. ;) |

I think these compo's are great, but the rush of different compo's is a bit too much. We already have 2 music compo's running at once, and let's not run out of interesting compo's within a few months. Some yearly planning would be nice I guess.
And we need coding compo's too!
Also, I think Didi adds an edge to it by clearly defining restrictions. Me likes!
Ppl complaining about restrictions should start a bitmap/[muia]fli/withspritesontop compo themselves ;) |
