Hi Folks,
yesterday I tried to recognize the music from this intro: https://intros.c64.org/intro/enigma-10
direct link to the .prg: https://intros.c64.org/inc_download.php?iid=2503
Tried with the newest HVSC and sidknown.exe but Sidknown could not recognize the music (nor with -b, etc.).
I checked with a debugger as well and if my finding is right, music is 'hidden' in the $A000-$C000 area. When the intro is calling the music routine, sets the bank by switching the value of $01 between $37 and $35.
This music is super nice, really worth to have a look! ;)
Thanks a lot!
Cheers,
zscs |

SIDKnown finds the tune (with -b option) as:
/MUSICIANS/D/Detert_Thomas/Magic_Disk_64_1991_06.sid
Which version of HVSC do you use and which version of SIDKnown? |

Oh, thanks a lot!
Strange, I definitely did something wrong then. SIDKnown was 1.1x (I have to take a look at it at home, which version was exactly), HVSC was v70 |

prolly you have not made a correct sid out of it, the tune is at $a800, prg2sid rips it correctly for you, if you provide it the correct start address
enigma-10.prg.sid: ID=XTracker_V4.1a/LoS Init=$a803 Play=$a800
and then sidknown identifies it

prg is not a sid, recognition chance is always lower than giving an actual sid. |

Howard Jones - Equality
not really a good one, probably another Electro_Sound tune but maybe brings "Nige" his own folder in next issue |

sigh, ripped, and no, he didn't get a dir yet and I really hope that day never comes, this shit doesn't deserve a dir on its own apart the trashcan. |

Not for me, it doesn't have a standalone play routine (just data files that must be played inside the program), I feel it will be more effort than gain trying to isolate it and convert the tunes to standalone playable files. |
