JCH - Questions

Hello people!

I am very new to the JCH-System, however I have about eight years experience in C64 Music Composing with the DMC 4.0. I want to get used to the NEWPLAYER v20 and the Editor version 3.04, and the following problems occured while using them:

1. When I press Shift-B for Follow-Play, it can happen that I can't STOP the Follow-Play anymore. The tune is still playing as usual, but I can't get into the Editor-System again by pressing Run/Stop, and I have to reset the c64.

2. Once it happened that I couldn't hear any sound from Voice 3, not matter if it's switched ON or OFF, even if the sequence in Voice 3 contains Notes and the right Commands.

Now I know, that the 3.04 system from JCH with the Newplayer v20 was released in 1998. Is there any later version of JCH, which is improved and debugged? I have read somewhere about Dane or Jeff who have made such an improved version of the JCH-System, is that right? Where can I get it?

This post still is not to end :) as there is still another question: How to create Multi-Speed-Tunes with JCH? I know that I can merge the double- and triple-speed to Editor 3.04. Unfortunatley have never created Multi-Speed-Tunes before, thus I'd be VERY grateful if anyone of you can send me some Multi-speed-worktunes made in JCH.

Ok, so much questions, so much thirst for knowledge. I hope anyone of you can help me!

Arman

It's complicated, and there are bugs.
To make multispeed you have to change the player used, im not sure how it works.

I have a doc that Danko has written.
The doc from JCH was not good, and is in danish.

You should look at SDI, it has no serious bugs and can do multispeed with a few keystrokes.

It's like JCH, but easier to use because it has text on sounds, so you are not blind when creating a sound.

Worst bug in SDI is you use maximum sequence length 7F, and fill the whoel seq with notes+commands. Just leave the LAST note free, and it's ok.

Is fixed in the next version i heard.

Thanks for the hints.

Unfortunatley the vibrants.dk - website seems to be down. That pop-up-window that is to be opened won't be opened at all.

Have to check it later.
