The Galleon 25th Anniversary Edition

I am planning to make a new, boxed release of my old adventure game called "The Galleon" during the next months in limited number. Hopefully already for the Arok Party 20 in August (or until September at latest in the worst case). I have launched an Indiegogo campaign for it:

I think it's safe to say at this point that we won't ever get the game. That's truly disappointing, also on a personal level as the author refuses to respond in emails (which he did before). Sad story. Well it is what it is now.

I have heavily invested in Unknown Realm, and I know it will be finished one day. Same with Pinball Dreams, btw

overflowing with indestructible optimism. I could be wrong but I would expect the heat death of the universe to occur before either title ever appears fully complete. :)

I'm all with Bugjam here... procrastination actually *does* occur, even in and around the c64 scene;)

Thinking of ideas and projects I had and still hope to finish some day, we're speaking of decades rather then weeks or month...

So for rosetif: take your time* and make us happy (*Corona happens to have freed up quite some, no;)??)

There is a big difference between something you do for fun in your sparetime and something you ask other ppl to give you money for though :=)

This yet again shows that the real evil is (in the) money ;)

Not saying that ripping off is ok in any way, but... I still think that this was not intended and that the project will be finished one day.

Thats one reason for why i have not set up a "patreon" page for VICE (or other things i work on) - once you take money, you have to deliver. No excuses.

So now we have 2022 and STILL the game is not available to those who backed it, nor was there an update from the author. His last update is from 2020. I'll call this a loss now. A shame.

Hi everyone, I've just returned to here for one more time, to close this topic, but only to announce that it goes on still under a new name (see below!). The title "The Galleon 25th Anniversary Edition" is not relevant any more, since it has been replaced with "The Galleon 30th Anniversary Edition" instead...

Indiegogo backers receive their copies out of turn, of course. (Or alternatively, if there were anyone who would rather like to cancel it, that might also be possible, as it was/is/stays always possible until the actual delivery as well, and in this case, a refund might be sent.) Some of them have already received (either from me personally, or from the new publishers, at such events like the Regamex or Arok), while some of them not yet (but will, and the last of those few ones whom we still have not contacted to yet, are in progress through e-mail at the moment, just please be patient and also sorry for the long delay, again).

The entire project has been taken over by Tuan Publishing: that is a book publisher in Hungary (known from some Warhammer 40K stuff and other fantasy titles). They are in Budapest, and it is also possible to contact to them, and receive the copies from them at their shop.

It can be found at their website:

https://tuan.hu/en/spd/a-galya/A-Galya-The-Galleon-C64-jatek

Finally, the best news that is the most relevant to the community here, is that even Protovision has become a retailer, who announce it as a new title, too, that can be found here:

https://protovision.games/shop/product_info.php?products_id=414

Please, in case there are still any questions etc. or for more details just see below:
