Event id #2908 : BCC#14
Hi people! Time to book your flight/ride/holidays
We're moving place this time, but maybe return to the Colony in 2021. For now, Seanser invites us to his Dojo (hint for motto). You may bring your black belt but you sure won't need it.
Check the place here: https://www.viamichelin.de/web/Karten-Stadtplan?address=Ahrensf..
It is located in the north-east of Berlin.
More information and maybe invitations, spoilers, teasers and what-not a little later.
You already "book" your seat with adding yourself to the attendees list here in csdb.
Some time later, there also will be the all-known registation-page on our relaunched homepage at: https://c64clubberlin.de
HEYYYAAAAHHHHHH! *double roundhouse kick* ^_^" |

Please note the location has not only moved some 100m (as last time) but to a totally different district.
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ahrensfelder+Chaussee+150,+12..
So if you have already booked the same hotel in Neukölln (South of Berlin) that you have booked for 10 years now for BCC, you should consider cancelling your booking and look for a closer alternative as Marzahn is rather in the North East |

In addition to that advice,
bring your pillows as we yet lack of tables and chairs.
It is a Dojo, they normally don't use furniture - or at least break it!
There's also a "Netto" supermarket and fuel station, as well as pharmacists within 3 minutes of reach per pedes.
If you like to sneak into the location, have a look at our homepage at https://c64clubberlin.de/?p=3772 |

i mean i don't mind sitting on the floor with my laptop. yet due to arriving by plane bringing own pillows is not an option.
i guess you will be sorting out that table thing until then?! |

hehe, as far as I'm told, tables are gonna be organized |

Sorry, I've to reject that tables are safely organized.
At this point, no (0) tables and chairs are there. No joke.
*** We are working on that! Just be part of the party, maybe we're experiencing a whole new type of event! *** |

Yeah, let's just all lie around on the floor, so no one/nothing can fall down when drunk, no injuries, no broken bottles -> win win... ^^ |

Some news:
While we're calculating for tables and chairs for rent - on top of the room rent at Ahrensfelde - another option appears to be the better partyplace.
It's not yet finally clear if that would come real, anyway.
BUT: In case I may rent another party place with everything included for a lower price, could YOU as party guest consider moving to the heart of Berlin instead the far north-east?
Check for https://c64clubberlin.de/?p=3871
Please give as much feedback as possible. Thanks. |

Erm... I am torn on that.
I totally dig a cool partyplace if it sports the right facilities and has space for proper car parking.
Otoh we already got our hotel sorted and would need to cancel those. |

As I don't live in Berlin anymore, I can't and won't help providing tables, so I can only speak from a guest's perspective.
Moving location once more, less than 6 weeks before event starts? Not the best idea in the world as people at some point in time need to rely on announcement and booked hotels, though those bookings can normally be canceled 24h before check-in nowadays. The alternative location's cons parking fee and the no-sleeping-at-party-place are most problematic imho(!) and outweigh the problem with tables and chairs at Seanser's Dojo in Marzahn. |

Hi. I'm thinking about visiting the party from Saturday noon until Sunday morning. I can sleep on the party place (hope it's allowed), want to have a place to wash teeth in the morning and make sompoo, make a tea, put my laptop and whiskey on a table and have a sit. I will come by car so free parking place would be great. It doesn't mater for me if party place will change, but it can be a problem for others who reserved hotel. If my standards will be met I'll be happy to go to BCC party :) |

I think few ones like me booked a hotel, which has a refund till today or want to sleep like last years at the partyplace. The Ryk said changeing a location 1 month or 4 1/2 weeks before a party starts is not the best idea... i'll agree!
I wish and hope the best for organizing all needed stuff. |

If everything works out fine, q0w will be our hero!
He happily could get his hands on 11 sets of "Bierzeltgarnituren" from the friendly fire dept. in Eberswalde, 50 km north of the party location!
(and in the very low case of fail with that, we have another plan)
This will maybe be a bit too less seats for everyone, so if you bring your hardware, please place it thight, so everyone gets a seat.
So I think we solved the little problem with sitting bull. Hey Seanser, we have a location at least with your help! That's awesome.
For everyones sake, next year I'll manage to get the Medientheater at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where everything is in place already ;)

There you may register, folks!
Sorry for confusing you maybe. |

Do you accept remote entires for any of the compos? |
| |
TheRyk
Registered: Mar 2009 Posts: 2298 |
For at least since BCC#5, BCC parties have continuously accepted remote entries in ANY category (any= all of them), only for prize giving you must have SOMEONE (normally groupmate, unfortunately your mate AWSM/VSN won't make it this year) to pick up trophy for you on Sunday late morning/noon. Main reason is orga won't bother to ship stuff.
I'm sure BCC will be honored and everyone is looking 4wd to your entry/-ies :) |

Great! I don't expect to win anything so that won't be a problem but I'll see if I can make a little compofiller entry for at least one of the categories :) |

Just called Thunder to learn I'm in charge of remotes as usual, so your remote entries are welcome to be sent via mail as .PRG or .D64 to ryker[ÄT]freenet.de
Remote deadline: as usual Fri 21st of Feb 12:00 CEST high noon, that's 30 hours before live deadline. Later incoming stuff is usually accepted, but no promises, so pretty please hit the remote deadline to make sure and be confirmed that all arrived safe and sound to avoid worst case scenarios such as bitchy spam folder etc... you know...
Cheerio,
Ryk
PS: Executables are appreciated. I've learned a lot about spooky 80s gfx and sid tools formats over the years due to entries handed in as .WTF format, so chances are I can help, i.e. code you an exec in case of emergency, but I really hate doing that while partying or even after deadlne... :P Seriously, if you need help, ask early. |

Please check the location double-secure:

That's the loc we're heading for ;) Search for FALKENBERG |

One more thing, if you don't explicitly flag or tell us "6581", your release will be seen and listened to on a vanilla C64C board with new SID 8580 and new VIC. Also, trackmos are run from real vanilla(!) 1541-II - just for the drama ;) |

hi, what's the email for remote and not so remote entries? (oups just seen it) |

Still ryker[ÄT]freenet.de
As I've been reported trouble with .PRG index as attachments, in case of emergency send .D64 or .ZIP it, be creative
Anyone whose release arrived will get a confirmation mail (but not automatically, so don't panic, might take some hours) |

You asked for live stream?
I taped the interesting parts nearly completely.
Will link and crunch tonight. Could anyone please free some ftp space for the videos? unrendered it's about 9 GB... (@720p/25/44100) |

Thunder.Bird: what about youtube? |
| |
TheRyk
Registered: Mar 2009 Posts: 2298 |
I'd prefer if you only share a download and put a well cut shortened clip on BCC homepage later.
BTW some releases still not uploaded as I don't have the disks, Thunder should talk to the New Ninja Skateboarders of Death and Atwoods Studios BEFORE upping. If you send me Sonki's tune, I could add some SYS line (or just let Exomizer do the job) |

Yepp. No Youtube/Dailymotion/Vimeo/other - I neither don't like to be seen worldwide from people(s) that don't have a C64 ;)
Thanks Dr.J for your offer. It's about 17 GByte video/audio, so the uploading would last forever (if I wouldn't compress it). I think I'll set up a local NAS with 10 MBit upload speed - should do, agree?
The "lost" files will be upped as soon as I get the OK.
You guys really rocked that BCC#14 and internal thanks to the team!

How about asking the SceneSat guys if they could host the file on their system?
I think next time it would a thing if there was a livestream for all the people out there as i have been asked quite some times if there is a stream available. |

I've once seen how Yago set up a strem for his small destroyer party when leaving Hamburg, and my impression was it's no wizardry. But atm I don't see who of current staff has what it takes: some skills, some responsibility, the will to do it (maybe even fun) and time to do it during the event. Just btw, if Thunder's plans work out, the next location will be far roomier which will make everything far less fiddly, including installing camera equipment.
Bottom line: Sofa sceners don't have top priority. But none of us has a serious attitude against live stream. We only lack human ressources to do it. If who-so-ever comes along and offers streaming it on SceneSat, we'd happily agree and let him or her do that. |

All right, it really seems that hacker(s) from Prague tried(!) to get inside my router.
That is scheisse and so I closed the doors.
I'm sorry for all the good people in here.
If I'm approaching further hacking on web.de also, I'll burn all the video files on CD and send it to you interested ones or bring a bunch of those to Revision Party in Saarbrücken in Easter! |
