I met Milo and Malte at the DoReCo 4 weeks ago. The First
time since more than 25 years. We were in daily contact
since then as he helped me with updating Csdb entries and
other things. I just wondered I got no answer since a few
days. I am really shocked.
Malte, I wish you all the best for you and your Family. |

I'm devastated by this sudden and unexpected death. We swapped traditional mail back in the 90s, later we remained connected on the net, met and talked at many parties, Forever, X, BCC... And now we've been again working closely together on a C-64 game project for the last couple of weeks/months that he was so excited about. I've been chatting with him on Discord only a few days back this month on so many different C-64 and life related topics. I still can't believe this precious life came to such a sudden end. |

I am currently collecting donations, which will be given to the family for free disposal. Anyone who wants to add something can transfer something via paypal. Send me a PM or have a look at "forum64.de" if you have an account there.
Independently of this, I will collect the numerous expressions of sympathy here and elsewhere and hand them over to the family in the hope that it will provide some comfort. |

Those were the days...
13 1/2 years ago BCC#3 in 2009 = my first meeting with MacGyver (left), me (right) in my mid 30s, him 29, both of us rather skinny if I compare to 2022. :)
From then on we met at EVERY single BCC party and various other events. Though he could be a pain in the ass at times (who isn't) and thus, might be regarded somewhat more difficult than the average 8 bit crazy dude, I'll always remember the good times and talks and laughs we had.
And boy, what a skilled gamer he was! More than once I saw him do speedwalks without trainers through fiddly games like Mission Impossible Series or Midnight Resistance in next to no time while everybody else was drinking and wondering WTH was going on :)
I will also implement shitloads of lists with incorrect or missing CSDb info he emailed me, though he had no active account anymore, he cared.
So once again: Godspeed MacGyver
And everyone else, take good care of yourselves, see your doctors at least every other year, we're all not getting any younger, and this is not the first former group mate I lose all of a sudden in his 40s |

When I read his name as a thread title on the CSDb main page, I was so hoping nothing bad happened to him. What a shock! Cheerful guy, extremly devoted to the C64. I will miss him and our epic battles when playing IK+ Gold. Condolences to everyone close to him. What a sad day. |

This year was emotionally very challenging so I'm kinda sealed emotionally and can't find the right way to respond to this tragic news. *Fkn hell!!* That's the closes approximation of my current mood. :-( It was a shock when I learned this. I kept it for myself only contacted the closest family. We stopped communicating long time ago, not on a good terms because Milo was upset on me for not caring about c64.sk. Yes. He cared about things around C64 scene a lot. He was doing a lot of behind the scenes communication and organizing. He never got enough credit for that, I think. He was a real scene hero. Idealistic, enthusiastic, naive, maybe, but of pure heart. He was also a real bro in law to me me which I didn't aknowledge enough. And he was a friend, even when we didn't talk. Milo, rest in peace I will always remember you. |

This is really shocking for me, too!!
Knew Milo like many, many years and met him on various parties (X, BCC and such) all the time.
We had lotsa cool chats and laughs about scene stuff, cracking topics, releases... just everything c64 related which was really fun to talk about with him.
He was such a friendly mate... !!
Only 43(!) is also just a bummer... and WAY too early for sure! What a FCK !!! :'(
Milo, have a GREAT time whereever you'll be right know and I'm pretty _very_ sure that you'll find yourself a c64 up there to still be able to enjoy our beloved scene-spirit as well then and FOREVER!!!
R.I.P., Milo and also ALL THE VERY BEST and STRENGHT to MALTE and all your family, too !!
Bye and c64 forever,

This is plainly devastating. MacGyver was one of my oldest friends in the scene, I have known him since a quarter century. Things will never be the same without him.
My deepest, heartfelt condolences to ThunderBlade and the rest of his family.
Farewell, my friend Milo. |

I finally recovered from my sadness to form my feelings with words.
MacGyver was my very first contact to the scene. He took me to TuM and I was fascinated by his box of disks with demos at Vision 2001.
We attended some parties together. He always was in a smooth mood. Sometimes that made me angry. I am feeling bad for my past and really feel sick about not meeting him that many times in Berlin.
My apologies to his family and just another tear is running down my cheek.
Farewell Milo. I won't forget the times.
We all miss you |

Ok, I read that shit information 12 days ago and it took me some time to come up with honest words: I've been a dick to Milo in the past and I never appologized.
So here we are: grown men losing one from our middle *AGAIN* - too early anyway but it happens *AGAIN*. This is so fucking sad; I feel sad for Malte: can't imagine how hard and devastating it is to loose your brother, man.
Condolences to his family. |

Dear fellow C64 fans,
thanks so much for all your messages. In these difficult times, more tough than anything I ever experienced, these kind words from all of you really mean a lot.
If you are interested in the date and time of Milo's burial, so you can join personally, please send me a PM. If all works out (it's bureaucratic), it will be in about 4 weeks from now.
Sincerely,
- ThunderBlade |
