Release id #10138 : All (B)ears

I still wonder why hasn't anyone placed a comment for this release from 2003. It's not that bad. Feedback is very welcome! We put a lot of time and effort into this one. BTW main coding was done by Neo.

never saw this one, sids added for the main program. all the rest of singlefilers from dragonfly soft should be entered as single releases with their own entries to be documented.

Jesus, this is 8 years old, trying to resurrect a zombie? ;-)
No really, I remember back then I enjoyed it, and I did so again, now that you pushed my nose on it. :-)

Yogibear, I guess the good vote statistic and over 1300 downloads speak for themselves :)

Not really. I'm busy with 2 non C64 commercial projects. Don't even have contact with JSL anymore. Very maybe later there will be a second. I also think a lot of people don't get the appreciation they deserve from other sceners.

quite the opposite, the demoscene seems to be relatively fair when it comes to effort / appreciation ratio :)

I beg to differ.

there are certainly a lot of people who think they deserve much more appreciation than they get from other sceners :)

randall: i think that the problem here is that "effort" doesnt always equal a good result. producing a lot of mediocre things also may involve a lot of effort.

with bigger audience comes greater profit and thus less fair the rules become. in the demoscene it's all small quantities, therefore it still does justice to really dedicated and talented artists. of course, there are releases deserving more love / less hype, but they're marginal phenomena compared to what happens outside this pure hobby area.

To be honest we were very disappointed we only got 3 comments for All (B)ears. Which I think was a really nice production.

Do i understand this right that this is something like the scene equivalent of asking for a mercy fuck?

srsly, just move on. you shouldnt be producing stuff to get comments on csdb in the first place.

If it's taken as a measure for recognition and appreciation, why not? :)

But then again, if everybody gets a "Good work!" or similar, it's like no-one gets that, and they entirely lose their meaning.

Forgot all about this. I think it motivates people to produce more for the scene when they get nice comments and votes.
If that doesn't happen they will lose their motivation and think why am I doing this? They will think I've put a lot of time and effort in this and got almost no constructive response.

We did this production with you because we like the teamwork and producing something cool, and we like it when people comment and like it of course, but we liked working on you anyway, and I bet Andrew and the rest share my thoughts and would gladly work with you on something again in the future :)

So, it's not all about the comments alone :)

OK.:) Well I also did enjoy working with you guys. I made several SIDs after All (B)ears was released. So maybe if a coder and gfxer are interested we could make a second AB.
