Release id #3283 : Sprite Assembler v2.3 beta

I'm running this on WinVice 2.45, seems like none of the disk commands work.

When in the sprite editor (F8), I press "d", and get the 'disc menu', but then none of the listed command keys (L)oad (S)ave ...etc respond.

Those keys *are* working outside of the disc menu, so it's not the keyboard setup.

I have 'true drive' emulation enabled (also tried it with it off).

Any ideas ?

Hmh, if you really wanna state it's an emulator problem, we'd need details about your system, conflicts with Win8 are reported frequently lately.

But my impression is that the beta simply does not support the options you try, although they are mentioned in the manual. Very quickly scanned the manual and tried all the spooky keyset combos and had the same results as you no matter in which WinVICE version/which settings. Only idea is that you first need to adjust certain parameters but given the fact that NONE of the keys (not even Directory) responds I just guess that the beta is too beta.

PS: Editing sprites on Emulators? If you use Win anyway, why not taking this one:
SpritePad V1.8.1
Ace stuff.
PixCen also has the options but SpritePad was made for sprites, so use it.

Thanks for checking it out.

I have lots of sprite programs, including SpritePad, but this program did look interesting.

This tool was a commercial product and there isn't any function copy available on internet archives. Because nobody used this tool for a serious work (except authors) :-)

If you want, please contact PCH for a full version. The tool isn't commercial anymore :-D

after testing a lot of sprite editors , the best cross (emulated) sprite editing is like Ryk Offered "Sprite pad" . for me it the ultimate choice for sprites (logos..anim)
